Wow, what a game! I was pulling for PSU but USC had a freshman quarterback that had no quit.

Earlier in the thread when the notion of 3 big 10 teams in the final 4 were mention....It was a very real scenario. And very easily could have came to furition if the chips landed just right. So I don't see your point of even bringing that up.

Inlet final game amoungst the teams, more than a month after their last game, doesn't define anything.

Big 10 kicked @$$ in the first 2-3 non conference games. Didn't do so well in the post season. What does that prove.....Nothing. it's football. And on any given day, one team can beat another.
LOL. So it's safe to say this bothers you.

I'm glad we didn't get 3 b1G 10 teams. Might as well just give it to Bama in that scenario. No conference should ever have more than 2 spots in the 4 team playoff.

If the B1G had won those games you would be singing a different tune. When your conference loses suddenly it doesn't mean anything. But in reality it does matter and you are just being a sore loser. These bowl games are all we will talk about until next year. Conference perception of the B1G has taken a huge hit. As has the PAC.

Wife was sick all day, and my one son had two basketball practices, with one ending at 9PM. Added had to get dinner ready as well as help pack my dad up for his trip back to Pennsylvania this morning. Lucky me caught the last mintue of the game with my dad when I got back.

Great game. I recorded it knowing I wouldn't see much of it, don't think I'll watch it.

Any way you cut it, with Ohio State, Michigan and PSU all losing, the big 10 was a big bust this year for the conference.

Heck, I'm just glad I didn't get stuck watching Wake Forest, Duke, NC state or North Carolina play and listen to my one boy "brag" about NC state:laughing:

I really dont know why I am gonna bother because I know you wont get it and dont like to keep things civil, but here goes.

What bothered me was you making some comment earlier about "some members claiming the BIG could get 3 teams in". What was the point in bringing that up again. I am pretty sure we all watch the same games, and the same selection committee shows. IT was indeed a very real possibility. Did it happen.....NO. Is it a good thing it didnt happen......YES.

Did the BIG drop the ball in the post season this year.....you bet. Does that erase how well they did all season .....NOPE.

No one is being a sore looser. Just pointing out the facts. Am I disappointed alot of the BIG teams lost....sure. But Im not gonna dwell on it. Does it mean the BIG wasnt as good as everyone thought??? I have no idea. We can make excuses all day long.

Michigan was a darn good team this year, and came right down to the wire against FSU....Imagine if Peppers was playing.
I got no excuse for OSU. They just played bad. But they were also the youngest team this year. So look out next year.
PSU.....They looked darn good. I remember people talking about USC being one of the hottest teams right now and thinking that they could go toe to toe with anyone.

Not sure what would be different about the "tune" I am singing if some more BIG teams won? Was this post season a disappointment....sure. Would I call the conference as a whole a bust? or overrated? No, I wouldnt go that far.

I will say, I didnt make it to the end of the game (PSU vs USC) last night. But one thing I saw that I can admire PSU and USC for....sportsmanship. If you watched the game last night, and watched the Washington vs Bama game......just look at the difference in the level of sportsmanship.

I'm glad you brought sportsmanship up. I noticed that last night as well in the game. I was impressed by how each team was coached.

What I don't understand is why they wait so long after the season to play these bowl games. In most sports, the playoffs start right after the regular season ends. I think it makes for "worse, not better" played games when you wait this long and the teams are soft and rusty.

The Clemson/OSU game was certainly a bust ... As was the Bama/Wash game. The Mich/FSU game was very entertaining, as was yesterday's PSU/USC game.

It's clear that the best 2 teams are playing in the championship. I just wonder, would those games have been any closer or more entertaining if they were played on week 14 instead of waiting so long...?

Money and ratings I'm guessing.

Remember the good old days when going to a bowl game actually meant something? Now a team that finishes .500 gets to go to a bowl game if their fan base is there.

I had to get a chuckle about reading about wake forest winning their bowl game. With the win, they finished above .500 by one game LOL
