2019 Mahindra 1626 Shuttle Shift Hydraulic Fluid Recommendations

Can anyone tell me what the recommended cross-referenced hydraulic fluid to use in a 2019 Mahindra 1626 Shuttle Shift? Mahindras brand of hydraulic fluid seems rather expensive and I was curious if that is because it is actually a very high grade or a branding thing.

No, I don't think so. I am going to admit I am completely green when it comes to diesel engines, tractors, and hydraulics. The tread from yesterday was about engine oil and brand compatibility. Today I am asking about recommended hydraulic fluids. All I can seem to find online is the Mahindra brand but I am betting there is a brand alternative so I don't have to make a 3-hour round time to my closest dealer. If I am wrong about engine oil and hydraulic fluid not being the same please enlighten me.

Why didn't you post this in the Mahindra owning/operating forum? Any quality hydraulic fluid will work fine. I have a 2005, 2615, same engine as yours. I've never used Mahindra fluids in it.

Because this is where I thought it should go as its an oil. What brand of hydraulic fluid do you use? I'm new to hydraulics so I wouldn't know a bad brand from a good one.

Fair enough. I've been using the Walmart brand of hydraulic fluid with no issues. Super Tech Heavy Duty Tractor Hydraulic and Transmission Fluid, 2 Gallons - Walmart.com

If just adding more hydraulic fluid are you worried about matching additives with the original "Mahindra" fluid with this brand or is it compatible?

For a while I'd drive into the dealer and get "Kubota oil products". It's kind of a PITA because they are right in the middle of Spokane. So ..... I cross referenced and now use a Rotella product. It's available at the local O' Reilly's store - here in Cheney.

Once it's time to replace the hydraulic fluid do folks recommend Traveller Premium Universal Tractor Trans/Hydraulic Fluid, 5 gal.? It comes from tractor supply.

Last time I changed my fluids in the tractor I spent weeks learning about fluids to put in My 2012 Mahindra 4530 tractor and learned a lot about hydraulic fluids from the companies I called to get their opinions on what to use. Below were my results in both motor oil and hydraulic fluid. The oil I use is good for 300 hours and the hydraulic fluid is good for 600 hours. Look at the manufactures websites and technical testing on their fluids and I think you'll feel comfortable about the quality of what you're buying. It's not cheap but how often do you change it with the service life it gives you?

I bought both of these on Amazon and they are working great. Living in Florida my tractor works in extreme heat conditions and does so with no issues. Good luck in your search.

i put the travelers in mine about 10 hours ago, it had the original fluid at 300 hours, its a bit quieter, no issues. i put t6 in the engine, but i plan to go to supertech after the next 100 hours, as i use supertech in almost everything

I finally found the lubrications table in the manual. For transmission oil, it recommends the following: Mahindra Universal, Citgo Transgard Tractor Hydraulic Fluids, Exxon Torque Fluid 56, Chevron 1000 THF, Mobil Fluid 424, Shell Donax TD, Texaco THD Oil Special. Any recommendations from these brands?
