We got a little snow from the storm. This is a video taken at my mother house. Some places had 3 inches some 14 inches. You can see that the 2210 goes right through with no problem. This was done in 4WD and High range. The video was taken by my 9 year old son, so its a little shaky. Just right click and save target as. Its almost 10 meg so give it some time to download. Enjoy

Thanks for sharing the video. It was nice. Your son didn't do a bad job at all holding the video camera. At the end did he yawn? Maybe he was getting bored with watching dad have all the fun. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Videos are few and far between so it's always nice to get a bonus and see a video.

rlcowder,

Second the thanks for posting the video. Couple of questions with the 47". What kind of rpm are you running at? Also you were traveling pretty slow (at least with the 46" snowthrower, I find the more ground speed the better -- think it keeps the chute full?), was there some reason you did this? Nice yard and all! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I just got the 2210 and wanted to take it a little easy at first. Event after all the snow I only have 5.5 hours on it. I run at PTO mark on the tach. I think that's 3000 rpm. That is actually my mothers house, she live next to me. She usually gets most of the snow because of drifting. I just have a long driveway (700ft concrete) and I wanted to get done faster. Do you have the 46 snowthrower? I have never seen one of those in action I always wondered how they did. I like the 2 stage blower and it does seem to through the snow farther if you keep it full. I just think it doesn't use the power if there is no strain on the engine. If I drive into a drift the rpms drop but the snow really flys.

rlcowder,

Yup I've got the 46". Bought it about 12 years ago when I had a JD425. At that time my driveway was gravel and the dealer thought the single stage would work better. Can't fault his logic, as every spring the York rake would get a good workout, raking the stones out of the lawn. I can just imagine how many shear pins I would have gone through with the 2-stage. Two years ago I had the driveway paved and haven't looked back since, although if I were doing it again today, I'd probably go with the 2-stage.

I'll bet that you want a cab enclosure under the Christmas tree next year!

I would use my father's Deere garden tractor to blow snow sometimes and would get covered in the stuff.

Come to think of it, though...I didn't mind the snow, I was having too much fun. I'm sure that you were too.

I just got a cab for my 425. It was a cozy. I absolutely hated it and traded ot on the 2210. I think I'm a little afraid of enclosed spaces. It slowed my 425 down, made it feel top heavy, fogged up all the time and it was too small. Now I have more power more room and all is well again. I looked a the 4XXX series but I only mow and snowblow so too much tractor for my needs, nice though.

That was awesome! How much is left on the driveway after you pass over it? Is it like an FEL where there would be just a light film?

BTW- The 9 year old did a great job. My 12 year old girl teaches me how to work the techno gadgets these days. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes it cleans it up nice. I can scrape up packed snow with it. If the snow hasn't been driven on I just use float and it follow the contours real well. If snow is your thing I really recommend the 47 blower. I can even clear some of my grass without damage.
