Thanks rScotty, Looking at the attachments it sure looks like the same starter as on the 240 and the other measurement given does make sense, although the text doesn't. Wouldn't be the first time a manual, when written in another language then translated was incorrect.
Can't get right back to this problem for a bit but now I'm anxious to.
The copies printed out well, thanks
We're right in the middle between Pickering to the south and Uxbridge to the North. The tiny hamlet, or what's left of it, named Altona is around the corner. Some old maps still have it on.
Hmmm....There are a number that fall into that category, If you narrow it a little perhaps I can help out....how about Mongolia, Egypt, Brougham, Bethesda, Utica, Siloam, Udora, Leaskdale?
For any who may still be following this thread, first thank you for the great advice, observations and ideas. The new starter arrived the other day and just now put it on the 240D and it is perfect, no issues whatsoever. This was an odd problem. Am going to get into the old one this winter to figure out what was wrong, more out of interest and a desire to learn so you may hear from on this issue again. I suspect it may have been electrical internal to the starter however we'll see. Hope I can assist some on you in the future.
