The restrictor mentioned is not for the 2555/2565 model tractor.I just confirmed that with my DSR. Your probably working on a 3500 series tractor that has a bypass @ the gooseneck. These tractors are/were having temp/heat issues. The issue with the 2555/2565 is there is enough air being drawn in and blown over the engine in cold weather to prevent the engine from getting hot enough to open the thermostat. Mahindra has no cowl change in process but there is a dealer experimenting with a bra to restrict the air flow.

the coolant restrictor can be used in a 2555 that is under temp, although not a huge improvement will be made by this. I have a picture of the air restrict bra ...that may help. the programming update solved the rich running conditions slash egr problems for us.

Has Mahindra said anything about making the program update available? I'd love to see the bra your talking about.

At this time no. Its being tried on a few troublesome tractors. The results so far are mixed. The Beta software is only showing a slight improvement. Mahindra can't tweek it to much without putting the engine out of EPA specifications for emission compliance. The bottom line is"keep the RPMs up" Don't idle around over long periods.

that's exactly what I figured out to Jabonee... I don't know If I am a firm believer in there keep rpm story. one tractor no longer shows egr codes while the other one has constant issues with mil and check engine light relating to the egr filling with unburned fuel. :banghead:

Are you sure its wet and unburned fuel. The first time I pulled the EGR valve I thought it was wet with fuel too. Further inspection revealed it was just shiny like gloss black paint. It fooled me!:confused3:

No one should be surprised with these issues. With this engine design, you should not be idling this tractor. It needs a higher rpm. (Thank you EPA) to run efficient and clean. If it had a DPF a lower idle would get more regens. Hopefully the problems can be worked through.

I've got an open station 2555 HST so I don't have the cab heat issues. I'm at about 25hrs. The MIL light stays on just about all of the time. When I talked to my dealer about it he wasn't concerned because it wasn't flashing and told me how to reset it. I've spent the time to reset but it just comes back on within the next time or 2 that I use my tractor. It will go off on its own occasionally but doesn't stay off for long.

My fuel gauge doesn't work. They can fix it when I take it in. I'm not making a special trip for that.

I'm also having the drained battery issue. It will start fine 5-10 times just fine then nothing. If its cold out and the glow plugs stay on for more than a few seconds the battery won't have enough umph to turn it over. After throwing the battery charger on it for awhile it will start fine for another 5-10 starts. I thought it was a bad battery too so I took it out and had it tested at Advance. They said it's dead but otherwise just fine. Told me to just charge it back up. I didn't want to keep messing with it so I took my 1yr old battery out of my boat and stuck it in there. Worked fine and I thought I had fixed the problem. Then about the 10th time I started it, DEAD! I wonder if the alternator isn't working correctly to keep the battery charged up? I was looking around and I have a white connector on one of the negative battery cables that isn't connected to anything. I couldn't see where it was supposed to connect to though.

Check your fuses.Make sure ALT fuse has not failed. Low Batt. voltage will cause ECU codes.
