I was wondering what other have done to secure their tractors to a trailer for transport, the 2555 doesn't have a very good place to attach chains to.

How far are you going? If were just running a few miles down the road we run a clevis through the rear hitch and a chain through it to the corners of the trailer and another through the FEL and cinch it down with a chain binder or come along.

When I take it to the fields its not a big deal, but when I run to the dealers its a 65 mile trip on I-95. there is a DOT weigh station on the way and I've been lucky so far and they have been closed. I know DOT doesn't like chains going through the FEL, they want them on the frame. A friend of mine has a New Holland and he had a large chain loop welded to the front of the frame. but the 2555 doesn't have s good place to weld to for the same type application.

This is what I did. It's nothing special but good enough to make it to the dealer if I have to.

Yes, I just drilled out a hole and added a grade 8 bolt. You could probably weld some on too.

Do you cross your chain when you tie it down?

I do the same thing on the drag link as you, I have a 1/2 twist clevis.

I haven't had to tie it down yet but I will cross.

loader cross member under the front and then get you a clevus for the back

I wouldn't trust the grill guard for a true tie down

I was thinking of using the same type tie down ring that IH782 used but to weld them to the front of the frame as indicated in this picture. Do you think the frame is strong enough there?

Shouldn't be a problem if you have to have 4 points. That what your going for? We just use two cross chains

When you say 4 points do you men 2 in the front and 2 in the back? I planned on 2 in the front and a clevis in the drag link in the rear.

Like 4 chains and 4 booms... some DOT require it

you would have to have hooks built for your trailer floor but the loader frame below the cab is a good point.. I usually just do what your talking about with one chain then the other on the cross bar for the loader brackets in the front... wish they all had the front towbumper like the 5500 series and Mpower series has... makes life easy
