I have mounted two .30 cal ammo boxes on the fenders of my 2615. I simply drilled two holes in the bottom of each box and used the existing holes in my fenders (took the handholds off). These work great. They have lots of room and are the perfect size to fit on the fenders. I keep tools and gloves in one and chains, hooks, other attachment items in the other. I only have one problem with the boxes mounted here... I hit my dadblamed elbows on them all the time! So, I'm thinking I need to find another location.

I'm considering added a cross member to the ROPS and mounting the toolbox there. Before the ROPS police starts... I do not plan to drill any holes in the ROPS. Nor do I intend to weld on the ROPS. If I go this route the cross member will be clamped on to the ROPS in some fashion.

Another option is to mount them on the loader frame structure some way.

Any opinions? Suggestions?

I'll try to remember to post some pics of my current set up this afternoon.

Thanks,

BR

BamaRob,

If mounting to ROPS, try the squared U-bolts, like used for trailer axles. They come in different widths and bolt lengths.

I had my local shop thread and bend from stock when I needed some for my boat trailer. You wouldn't need near as heavy for the ammo boxes, but you may want to get the heavier ones for the Browning...heh-heh /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Huh? What Browning?

I've pretty much decided to mount my tool boxes on the quick hitch that I ordered from Harbor Freight the other day.

Click here or here for the thread on the quick hitch I ordered. And, here's the way I intend to mount my tool boxes (thanks to JD3520 for the idea):

BamaRob,

I figured if you had the .30 cal ammo boxes, you must be getting prepared for the .30 cal Machine Gun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the pic. I have a few ammo boxes and was looking briefly but didn't find a good place to mount it. I really like the quickhitch mount area- will probably do the same thing you are.

One thing, I'll probably put it on the other side. I usually connect the PTO shafts from the right side and it could be in the way.

Oh... the reference to Browning went right over my head... makes perfect sense, now. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Good call on the location of the box inhibiting access to (dis)connect the PTO shaft. Since I have two boxes, currently with one mounted on each fender, I was going to put them both on the quick hitch. I may have to rethink that and only put one on the left side. Hmmm. I may mount one on the right and see how much it's in the way when messing with the PTO.

Thanks,
