B2320 tractor - knob located below seat will not hand turn in either direction. It is set so that the 3ph will raise and lower. Knob has worked in the past, but I 've not tried to turn it lately until yesterday. I 'm reluctant to use any kind of wrench at this time for fear of braking the plastic knob or twisting the metal shaft. I 'm a small man and can 't budge it either way using both hands. Suggestions to safely free up knob or an explanation of what might be jamming it please.

Can you access where the adjustment goes into the tranny housing. If yes try spraying some pentrating oil in that area. Suspect it has been a few weeks and it may have rusted up. My BX does this and so far a little liquid wrench has worked.

Have you tried lowering the control lever, this will take some pressure off and may be eneogh to get you out of trouble.

Possibly, but its gonna be tuff. Everything is covered with plastic cowling or seat none of which I look forward to removing. Maybe with a straw on wd40 can and a chance aim.

3ph is lowered and implement is on the ground. Do you mean keep the lowering lever in the lowering position instead of neutral point ?

I mean all the way forward or lowest position to let pressure off, may help. If it were mine and it's not, I would use a pair of adjustable pliers and a rag to prevent marring the knob and clamp onto the knob and apply a small amount of force in the counter clock wise direction to see if you can budge it loose. It shoudn't take much if the pressure is off. Good luck.

Its a mind boggler for me. I put lever in full down position. No luck. I lubed as best I could with wd40. No luck, but am letting it soak a bit. Next step will be gentle coaxing with a wrench or channel locks. If I do get it free, I will remember to exercise the knob from time to time. If I don' t free it, I 'll have a beer and ponder on it :D .

I have a BX22 and sometimes have trouble adjusting the height but it seems to me that raising the deck frees it up. Probably need to oil mine too.

The knob will pull straight off and will give you better access to spray, then maybe use vise grips to work it free after it soaks for awhile.

I wondered about how to get knob off. Couldn 't find a set screw or anything else keeping it on shaft. It must be on the shaft pretty tight. I know I ain 't strong enough to pull it off without some sort of tool.
