From what everyone is saying on FB, it appears that the person who called in the complaint on Peanut is a local girl from here in East Texas. I'm working on a house in Longview right now, and that's where she lives.

When she made the complaint, she bragged about it because she felt that Peanut might have rabbis. After everyone found out that she did this, she apologized and closed all her accounts.

And that local girl is pathetic. I'm ashamed of her. Please help her pack up and move back to California.

They're off by almost 4x, after this recent ruling!

The matter is civil between seller and buyer and the contract stated the county auction would receive a fee based on the sales price... zero ownership to the county.

That is what I read the first time. Why would the county LE be involved in a civil matter.

All my cattle have names and know their name when called. Toro is going freezer camp this fall. Next will be Anise and so on. They have the best life I can give them before they help sustain ours.

Fair should have just given her the goat back . Lots of dumb going around in this story. Why would the parents take it to the auction knowing it was going to be sold for meat? And why would they let her name it if it was to end up like that? Cops here would hang up if you asked them to go get a goat.

It was a 4-H project and that's what they do. Enter a different class if you don't want to auction. An auction is the same as a contract. You don't pick and choose what you do as the auction is happening.

That’s what I’m saying. They knew the result and they knew the goat was more of a pet, but entered it anyway? That’s just the start. Was everyone involved eating tide pods?

I get the “contract” part but sometimes it’s not worth the trouble over a little cash.

If they made an exception for one spoiled brat when would it stop. Kids and many adults need to learn that livestock is not a pet.

When moms car was stolen… the same one she sat in going down the assembly at the factory as it was being built we held out for 3 months that it might be recovered.

Insurance pressed to settle and reluctantly we did.

About two weeks later it was recovered dirty with a cracked windshield but not wrecked.

It now belonged to the insurance company but we insisted on getting personal items back and Sheriff agreed… as there was no coverage on personal items.

I wanted the car and was told it’s not yours anymore and was now at the auction yard.

I sent the pictures saying how many owners had their only new car built for them and watched it being built and the local consumer reporter would like to do a story on it.

Insurance says it’s already in auction but given the circumstances and not wanting media I could buy it back for the auction price and I did…

Everyone was made whole and no press coverage.

I would like to think there was plenty of opportunities to do the same for the young girl and it would have saved hundreds of thousands of tax dollars…

I believe some lost their jobs over this goat…
