I'm seriously looking at buying a 3015 HST. I've checked out the tractor and really like it. I know that this tractor is made by Mitsubishi and I also believe that the Cub 7532 is made by mitsubishi. To my eye, both tractors appear to be the same but, there are some differences in the specifications that have me confused.

-The motors seem to be the same Mitsubishi turbo-charged 3 cylinder diesel. The displacement is the same but, the cub is rated at 32 Hp and the 3015 is rated at 30 Hp. Different Boost Pressure??
-The Cub says that it is rated at 2500 rpm while the 3015 says 2750 rpm.
-The Cub says that is weighs 2300lbs while the 3015 weighs 2601lbs.

Anyone have any ideas as to the differences? Are these tractors and motors really the same?

I can't speak for the Cub, but I'm reasonably sure the 3015 engine does not have a turbo.

The 3015 is the same as the old Cub Cadet 7305. Definitely not turbo. The Mitsu/Cub 7532 is a new design. Cub dropped the old Mitsu 7xxx series and Mahindra now markets the hydrostatic versions of them. The series is about 6 years-old, but is field tested and VERY reliable. I am a big fan of the Mitsu/Cubs, but were I to like the Mahindra dealer, I would certainly not hesitate to purchase a 2015, 2615, or 3015.

Yes the newest 3015 are turbo, the earlier ones where not turbo, but the last ones we have got in our inventory have been turbo. I'm not shure if this was to meet emissions standards required on diesel engines. As far sa differences between that and the cub, i'm sorry i cant help you. I can tell you the 3015 is a nice unit, we have quite a few out there and people have been very pleased with them.

Thanks for the comments so far. It is an interesting subject.
As far as the Turbo is concerned, the 3015 I am considering DEFINITELY has a turbo charger on it!!! I have already touched it, heard it, and confirmed it with the dealer. According to the dealer, it makes the 3015 quieter and it definitely seems to have more mid and top end torque as well.
Indeed, I can't believe that adding a turbo to any diesel engine adds "0" horsepower.

HOWEVER, on the other hand, I strongly suspect that Mahindra USA may be purposely keeping the lid on this feature until the older stock of 3015s are depleted from dealer's inventory in the U.S. Market. I happen to work for a manufacturer and our marketing section often uses the same "Silent" feature introductions so that our dealers are not stuck with old stock that won't sell because of a hot new feature available on newer production units.

Anyway, if anyone has more information it is appreciated.

Eric

Thats interesting, is it smaller displacement or some other way to keep hp the same?

According to the engine tag, the displacement has not changed. Note that it is a small, kind of cute, turbo charger. I have never seen such a small one. It has no inter or after cooler so the boost is probably small. Even so, I did notice that the cub has the same turbo engine with the same displacement with 2 more hp.
I'll try to post a picture of the turbo next week.

This is the reason why I posted the original thread.

I will admit that I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to tractors. Could you please tell me what I am looking for as far a turbo charger.

My 3015 is going to be here tomorrow and I am just curious. The dealer did not say anything, but it may have been an omission.

THank You

I guess that the newer 3015s have turbos but the older ones don't from the responses from other people in the forum.
I just happened to notice that the 3015 I looked at had one but, there was no mention of it in any of the marketing or specification information.
I also noticed that the Cub Cadet 7500 series had them too.

You can quickly tell if you look at the exhaust manifold and see that the manifold is routed to a turbo assembly before going to the muffler.

It should be a good thing for power and efficiency if you have one on the 3015 that you buy.
