Kioti 3054xs TLB
Can anyone tell me where I might purchase replacement bulbs for the front and rear work lights that came on the 3054xs machines? The bulbs themselves are nothing special(12v 35watt push ins), but are permanently mounted in a "fixture", which prevents simply changing out the bulb; the whole thing must be changed(bulb and fixture, not including the light case itself) My dealer attempted ordering some from Kioti, but was informed they are not available through Kioti, even though Kioti mounted them on their tractors  I e-mailed this queation to Kioti some time ago, but have received no response. Some one produced these, so replacements must be available, somewhere, but I've not been able to locate them locally or on the "net". The following is etched onto the bulb fixture; Philite H3 12V 35W Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
I have had no success in finding the part number for the light you mention. If you would like to gradually replace them with the new work lites for the SE cabs the part# T4157-69811 is available and most likely a better light for about $43. You can also get a halogen rubber casing work light at the auto parts store for about $40 and get much more light.
Sorry I wasn't much help.

Thanks for your efforts; I cannot fathom why a manufacturer would use a product and then not have service parts available. I guess thats the difference between the "K" tractors, as well as most other major brands, and Kioti. I can only hope that when I need a significant part to keep the thing running, that it will be available

Patches,

Can you post some pics of the lights so we can see them- maybe someone will have an idea where to get replacement parts or at least who made them for Kioti
Any other marking on the lamps, interior or exterior that might give a clue?
Try calling Kioti's American Headquarters and see where you get with them...you might have some luck if you get through to their technical department- someone has to know the answer.....
Don't give up.....
Good luck!

BTW, How do you like your DR. Chipper- what year, how many hours, etc.....

Thanks,

CM

Patches are you talking about the lights on the ROPS?

I am fairly certain I got the part number either in my parts manual or the backhoe or loader manual and getting replacements should be easy, I've heard of no real problems from anyone in getting parts.

I had a rear one go out a few months back.

I went to Wallyworld and got two tractor lights at $10 each. I mounted where the old lights came off. Much better light dispersion as they are round.

I'll be doing the same on the front as soon as one of those craps out.

Coyote; I've owned the DR a couple years and have been quite satisfied with it. I don't chip very big stuff, as it will take just 4 inch wood, but I consider anything over 2 or 3 inches fire wood anyway. It's fairly light, just over a hundred pounds, so moves easily when off the tractor and is easily maintained.I used it once on a friends JD 2320?? and had quite a session with it, as it seems there's a brake on the JD PTO shaft, so when you disengage the PTO the shaft stops immediately, while the flywheel on the chipper wants to keep spinning; not a good thing  As for pics of the light bulb/fixture, I'm afraid I'm not that accomplished with this "new fangled" stuff;can barely turn the d--- on :eek:

Patches,

Thanks for the DR. Chipper report. I just purchased the newest one, which is heavier and hopefully will stand the test of my 'crash test dummie' routine over the next year's FREE TRIAL of the unit. Of course I had to pay for the machine but can return it if I don't like it for any reason for a year - INSANE policy.

As to your lights- I think some mfg's buy a product like consumers- closeout special to out fit their equipment with and then supply no or little support when the c**p fails.

Good luck.

Thanks for the good wishes. I have several pieces of DR equipment:chipper, field and brush mower, and their lawn/leaf vacuum, which has been a life saver for me as we live in an area chuck-a-bloc full of oaks  Both the chipper and lawn/leaf vacuum were purchased with the 6mth free trial; I couldn't bring myself to send them back once I saw how much time/work they saved. I try not to look through their catalogs anymore :p

I discovered my local Kubota dealer, 6 miles from me, is now carrying the DR line, they have everything except the ZTR, I try not to go there. I have not purchased anything yet.. but some of their stuff is mighty tempting.

Patches,
I didn't say they were not available. I'm sure they are.
They are not on the Kioti internet parts books yet, which is why I had no success on late Friday afternoon.
If you would like I can get the numbers from Kioti by calling them, as Joel said they are available. They are part of the TLB Package that is added to the LK3054. Do you have a dealer you work with over in Maine?
Let me know if you would like me to pursue this for you.

I would be more than greatful for your help. My dealer told me they are not available. I really would rather not replace the four work lights on the unit if I can replace bulb/fixtures only. Only one is presently O/A, but it's just a matter of time. I seldom use them, (sno-blowing), but if they're there, they should work; kind of **** about that. :p Should you be able to find same, I'll buy 4; let me know

H3 Euro bulbs are very common; they come in 35, 55, and 100 watt versions, with 55 the most common, 35's are used mostly in electric golf carts to preserve power, and in some US DOT spec fog lamps. A NAPA/Wagner part number would be BP1235H3, BP1255H3, BP1210H3 for the 35, 55, and 100 watt version. A 24 volt 70 watt version is available as BP2470H3. They are so common in aftermarket fog/driving lights, that even WalMart carries them. The 55 watt H3's sell for ~ $4.00 to 5.50, 35 watts about a dollar more.

Thanks for the info on the H3's. I found them tucked away at Wally-World;no 35's but they had 55's, which means a little more light  I love this place :D

Glad you found them, and also glad you did not do a Google search for a view of one on the Wagner bulb site as the photo shown is incorrect. The 55's should be fine unless the wiring is marginal.
