When I tilt the bucket back, should it maintain the back position or do they tend to move toward the dump position with a load? Thanks

It should maintain position while the engine is running and the control lever is in the neutral position.
It will dump faster when the control is moved toward the dump position. The heavier the load is: the faster it will dump.

This is a popular subject, been discussed several times before, but it appears that even when running the hydraulics will bleed off. Seems that JD even thinks that is acceptable.

First hand experience with my 2520 proves that it will tip on its own, eventually.

The bucket should maintain its position. With the bucket empty push the joystick all the way to right, so as to put it in regen/fast dump and allow the bucket to go to its lowest position, would not hurt to do this twice.

If this does not resolve your problem reset the quick disconnects.

The following was taken from another post on what Regen is.

Regen is a "feature" of most modern FEL (Front End Loader) valves, it's on the Dump (joystick far right) circuit, and is also referred to as "Fast Dump". The reason it is nice to have is that without it, the weight of a filled bucket can actually "pull" the bucket down faster than the fluid can enter the other side of the cylinder, this will create a air pocket and give the bucket a "floppy" feeling until the joystick is held in the dump mode a few seconds to refill the cylinder pushing the air past the seals. So we add "regen" or "regenerative" function to the valve.

Regen solves this problem by actually filling both sides of the cylinder at the same time with hydraulic fluid. But how will that work you might ask? Well, because there is more volume on the side of the cylinder that extends it since the rod is taking up space in the other side, it "overpowers" the rod side and lets the cylinder extend-thereby dumping the bucket. So since now both sides of the cylinder are "pressurized", the air pocket cannot develop, eliminating the "floppy" bucket syndrome. One other added bonus is that the bucket actually dumps faster due to the higher flow rate required to do all this, that's why it's referred to as "fast dump" sometimes.

If I understand you, the problem is in the curled up position, and a loaded bucket should hold that position. However, there can be some leakage in the valves or in the cylinders that will allow the bucket to drift down.

There is a tolerance that is considered acceptable before repair or replacement is considered as a fix.

As I am reading this, your problem doesn't include the regen feature. But it may contribute to some of the drift you experience wanting to maintain the 'back' position.

The reason I explained what regen is/does was to aid in understanding why pushing the joystick all the way to the right would possibly correct the problem.

I was not trying to indicate that regen would be the cause of the problem.

Sorry if I confused the what the problem is.

So, what would make the bucket slowly tilt to the dump position. This is a brand new 3320 with no leaks in hydraulics.

I have the 3320 and the bucket will drift to dump, so I keep tilting it back as I drive. Habit for me now, but wish it would hold.

So a drifting bucket on a brand new 3320 is something I should just live with? I really hate the bucket doing this.

For instance if I get off tractor to load bricks in bucket, I have to keep walking back to joystick to tilt bucket or the brick will fall out.

Well you could set it on the ground.
