Price Check 3320 Price Check & Other Questions

It has been a long time since I have posted but I'm finally ready to make the purchase. I have narrowed it down to the 3320.

I would appreciate your feedback on the following prices. Unless I'm calculating something wrong, this seems to be around 10% off of list or more. These are both local dealers with good reputations. Could I be doing any better? How about the RD Mowers? The Frontier models seem to be very pricey.

I have no current need for the mid-PTO or 3rd SCV. Is there any reason why I should go with them anyway?

I'm also torn between the R4s and the Turfs. Any input would be appreciated. After a little bush hogging and landscaping, I will mostly be using this for mowing and snow removal.

I think I may also want a toothbar but I can easily add that later if needed.

I was also thinking about getting the Skid-Steer Quick Attach instead of the JD Quick Attach since I have access to Skid-Steer attachments.

I have a 3320, attachments listed in profile...

I have the 3rd SCV and MM option, because they were on the machine... also a 72" HD bucket w/ repl. cutting edge... the 300CX can easily handle the larger bucket FWIW...

If you are remotely near Houlton give Daniel Peabody a call at Peabody's Lawn & Leisure (532-6518)... or talk to Mark if he's not around... he gave me a really nice deal on my machine and is a heckuva nice guy... he is more of an old school dealer--no internet, small offices... used to do a lot of wood & Ag stuff before his dad sold off that portion of the business... they have really treated me well (can tell them Nate from Lubec told you to call).

The impression I get reading here is that all costs have gone up in the past year or so d/t steel & everything else going up, but they are straight forward guys up there...

Oh, for the mowing & snow removal, look at the "larger" or "new" R-4's that are out... larger footprint (less compaction) and less aggressive tread do save a bit on the grass, but still give a good, durable industrial tire for your heavy work...

i am in west TN and paid 21900 for a 3520 eHydro, 300CX w/ 61" HD bucket, R4's(filled), JD LX5 BH, and an offbrand 5' BB. no options. added an imatch,JD toothbar and forward lighting kit later. that was the best i could do locally and i am sure prices are generally cheaper here than ME. so those seem like fair prices to me. enjoy your new tractor. the R4's are easy on the grass and think you will be better off with them unless you plan to mow only.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger! It sure was hard to let go of that sort of money but at least I'm getting a whole lot of green in return. The 0% for 36 made it a little easier as well.

It turns out to be about 11% off of the online builder price. It's probably not the best price but I can live with it. I was trying to get it under $21,000. I probably could have made this happen through another dealer but my neighbor has always bought from this same dealer and he has nothing but good things to say about him. He also happens to be the closest JD dealer to me.

It should be delivered next week. I decided to go with the larger R4s since they seemed to be a happy medium between the R3 Turfs and the standard R4s. Versus the standard R4, the Marathoners seem to be a little larger for more floatation, have a little less agressive tread and I think they may be a little more forgiving since they are only 4-ply (which is also a downside).

I purchased a used Landpride FDR2572 RFM through a private sale for $1200. I also purchased a Tilt Meter and EZmover Hitch through TBN. I already have an old bush hog, box blade and land rake kicking around.

For the past two years, I have looked at everything under the sun including Kubota, New Holland/Case, Kioti, Massey-Ferguson and Cub Cadet. I even looked at some of the other brands out there. I was torn between the following:

* John Deere 3320 (4310)
* Kubota B3030 (B7800)
* Kubota L3130
* New Holland TC33D
* New Holland TC35D

They are all great machines with great features and I would have been fine with any of them. I was especially torn since I could have got the B3030 Cab model for the same price as my 3320; this was a tough call. I just fealt the B3030 may be a little too small for my needs in the future. I also fealt the L3130 and TC35D were a little too large. I really liked the TC33D but the operator platform fealt a little cramped to me. Ultimately, it just came down to comfort; I fealt more comfortable with the layout of the 3320.

At the last minute I also found a used L3430 Cab model for $21,000, which seemed like a great deal. This almost swayed me but I just fealt it was too big of a machine for my lot. I also could not get the 0% for 36 on it. I may kick myself later for this one.

I also wanted to thank all of you who have helped me over the past couple of years while I have been researching this. You have answered all of my questions and helped to make me an educated buyer.

Congrats on the new tractor!

I was kind of like you... sat on a bunch, but the Deere was the one that just fit the best. So far I've had no problems and no regrets. Hope your luck is the same.

My 3320 arrived today! I loaded the ballast box with crushed stone and got right to work. I tried hooking up the I-Match to my RFM but something did not seem right so I posted questions and photos in the Attachments forum.

Browns40, good call on the larger R4 Marathoners. From what I have seen so far, they seem to meet my needs very well.

That is a sweet machine you got there!

You are going to enjoy your "increased productivity" working around the property with it!

Once regular maintenance rolls around you'll really appreciate how thoughtfully filters are laid out on it too... very comfortable machine to work with, also to work on.

You won't be disappointed.

Give me a buzz if you have any questions regarding the machine... I'm no authority, but have 210 hours in on mine so far and may have run into any issues you might have.

Great setup. congratulations. Mine is spending way too much time in the garage. I need to hurry up and find some property and put it to work. I have yet to even use the PTO. Enjoy.

How much property do you currently have? What have you been using your 3520 for? Which attachments do you have and which have you used?
