Thanks guys for all the support and well wishes.:)
Now I can say WOW...the builder just called to let me know they passed final inspection today!!!
First try too.
There are still a few "little" things to wrap up, but after that we should be getting our certificate of occupancy. Heck, we are not ready to move yet either. I guess we can do the traveling between properties in reverse though? Stay up there for 5 days and come down South to work on the house for a couple days a week?
There's a lot of work at both places to get done.

Congratulations and job well done by you and your contractor.:D Now you can get ready to kick back and take it easy. (once you are completely moved);) The hard part is over.

GREAT! Hats off... champaign to the owner and contractor! You had a great contractor. His work is impeccable; I should know. And a final on the first go! I didn't even do that myself on my own house and I'm the one that used to give all the contractors their punch lists on huge projects at work.

MtnView says the hard part's over but hah, I know about moving!

Lucky for you and your tractor(s) there's plenty left to do what with landscaping and maintenance and upgrades. A place like that is never "done". Thank goodness :), we'd not need our tractors anymore:eek: .

Hi Rob,

I have to echo the comments of all the other posters - a magnificent home and a marathon of writing to keep everyone up dated. You and the wife should be justly proud of your accomplishments. Everything just seems to get "betterer and betterer" :D

Now me and the wife know what we want to do when we win that lottery - eh:eek: :D

Great thread Rob and thanks for sharing with everyone over the long sometimes, hard episodes. Everything has turned out great in spite of the odd challenges that " only murphy knows how to do".

Congrats Rob! That was a great milestone to cross!

I loved the last sets of photos. Photo#36 is breathtaking. I took a moment to imagine that as my porch and view and for almost a split second could feel the joy. :D And then, the photo with you playing music (those are your boys I assume?) Isn't that what it's all about! Some people will enjoy life no matter the house or property, and that certainly looks like a group of characters that would. A person's largest blessing is an appreciation for the smallest blessings. I wish you years and years of music playing and porch sittin'.

You guys are truly wonderful. All those well wishes sure made it worthwhile doing all the narration and posting photos. It was a long year for sure.
Now to buckle down and get the rest of our stuff moved up. Then to arrange the new place and start working on all the little projects up there. Right now we use Loretta's air card, which has great Internet reception. We are looking at some kind of satellite service for tv and the other computers.
I'll still be at the Rancho home for a while though, while all the moving and cleaning is being done.
Thanks again everyone.:)

Rob, AT&T is supposed to have something that I think will work for you, not 100% sure though.
