40x60 Metal Building Cost?

40 x 64 x 14 priced here for about $15,000. Another $5000 labor if they build it. I wanted 14 foot height for expansion later. It will support pullin the RV out of the weather. I plan to put a lift on one end. This is with 3 overhead doors 12x12 and one entry door. I wanted to pull things in and out from the side so I don't have to move things every time I want what is behind it. Can't have enough space, and can't raise the roof later. You can add a loft to take advantage if the height too. Although you can take out a wall and put more trusses in, your truss width is as wide as it gets. 40 foot width is nice.

Paul, most of us who already built paid more than double your total. Can you give us some more details? Wood or steel? Pole barn? Dirt, gravel or slab floor? Any foundation? Insulation, etc, etc. Also, what part of the country do you reside?
Regardless, it sure sounds like a "build it" price to me.

Hi all-

I'm not building anything quite so large (28X32X10 for a workshop), but pricing for the materials can be found at this company, and they have some pretty good sized kits already done up. They've been really helpful to me in getting the specs and prices for our workshop (which is not one of their normal sizes). This company does kits which are materials delivered - I'll probably split the work between me and a local guy for the finish work. Add concrete and running the main electricity from the house.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for showing off pictures of your project.
Just to let everyone know. Mike's Metal is a vibrant part of Bastrop Texas and a mainstay in the Central Texas Construction Industry. Whether you need a small tractor shed like Mike here or a 10,000 sq ft air plane hanger, we can do it. just as we have been doing all over Texas and Louisiana the last three and half years. view our website, and give us a call. Mike's Metal Steel Building Construction If you need a cost comparision, let us know. Remember to ask about rigid end walls, what type insulation, do they include doors. We have found lately, many suppliers are providing "purlin" buildings without rigid end walls and have seen buildings delivered with no doors or trim. when pricing compare apples and apples. if you need help email us.

After a ton of research, and many building quotes, and wondering if I should build a steel or pole barn, and how much I can afford, and ALL your guys input, I'm getting closer to making the barn a reality.

Here's the latest

40x72x14 with 6/12 pitch, 16 inch overhang, pole barn
40x48 will be enclosed and 40x24 will be 3 sided-run-in
40x48 enclosed section with have ceiling lined with metal and 12" of blown in insulation

1 - 10x12 door (track door - insulated)
1 - 12x14 door (track door - insulated)
2 - entrance doors
2 - windows
4" reinforced concrete floor (40x72)
very little excavation required (less than 2')
no electrical
no side wall insulation - yet

Estimated cost: $30K

Local guy, excellent reputation, has built many other local pole barns and homes. I have checked his work and he pays attention to detail. He starts the job and works until it's finished. He estimated that this barn would be complete within two weeks, weather permitting. What am I missing? Your input is appreciated! Thanks again.

Just talked to the builder. The total cost for materials, including concrete for the entire 40x72, site prep, gutters, and other incidentals $28,500. Labor for 6 guys x 2 weeks $13,000. Total 41,500 (turnkey) 2 week build time. No upcharge on the materials and lift.

CJ4, can you please send me some more photos of the finished product on your lake house? I am in a church that may be interested in a similar set up and I'd like to see how well everything turned out.

If you could, also let me know the final finished price.
