JD 4110 HST w/410 Loader and 60
I am still planning on waiting until next winter for my upgrade, but I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. My nearby dealer still has two 4100s sitting on the lot and I asked hime for a quote on the HST. The tractor is not set up with a deck yet and the price below includes setup costs, according to the salesman. I'd appreciate it if any of ya'll, dealers included, think this would be a good deal:

2001 4100 HST
R4 tires (I might swap for turfs)
Front SCV:
$11,900

60" deck, installed:
$2,315

Total, delivered: $14,215

Thanks in advance for your advice.

The best price I was quoted for the same tractor, less the SCV, last year was $11,300. The JD website listed $12,500 and the highest I got was some clown at $15,100(but he was going to give me a "package deal" if I bought some implements). Good luck with your decision /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks, M.R. The price seems about the same considering the DSCV but your quote is a year old which leaves me some room to sharpen my dealer's attention. I'm not in a rush to move up and maybe the dealer will get a little impatient what with the new tractors due in a few weeks.

Regards, BP

Not a bad sounding deal. Check the Kubota 7500 for comparison. The dealer has probably been paying interest (and will eat the depreciation)on this tractor for quite awhile, maybe over a year. If its sitting next to a 4110 in a month or so, I'm guessing he'll really need to get rid of it. It doesn't look like the 4110's are going to cost much more than the deal you are looking at. Be patient. If he won't come off the price, wait for the new model.

It's a crapshoot waiting for the dealer to "time-out" on his price. Give him your bottom line and leave smiling /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. As Jetson said, the new models look pretty comparable in price. The tractor is proven so you won't go too wrong. Has the unit been sitting outside on the yard or in the showroom?

It has been in the yard. The dealer told me it had been periodically washed and it has been waxed twice. He mumbled that he wanted to sell it before he had to wax it again.

Last Fall, I bought a 4100 with a few implements. Tractor with DSCV, Turfs, HST, was $12K, MMM was $2K, FEL was $2K, 51 inch Brush was $2K. This was purchased as a package, and included the John Deere incentive on implements purchased with a tractor, and the incentive on the tractor itself. Some of these incentives have now ended. Your price doesn't look too bad.
