I say go e-hyrdo.
I have a 4720 with e-hyrdo and a 5525 with the power reverser. I can run either one just fine. If they had the e-hyrdo as an option in the 5525, I would have it. The PR becomes very natural - sometimes I catch myself grabbing for the selector on the 4720.
The only place the e-hyrdo can suck is large work - you need cruise. The guys at the dealership laughed at me. I reminded them - on our geared tractors, they have cruise (the throttle). Your ankle will hate you after a while on it. $75 option on the e-hydro and well worth it.
I believe resale on the e-hyrdo will be higher.
More people can run the tractor with less knowledge, which is not a bad thing. My wife is scared of the 5525 due to the PR. That is also not a bad thing - it is a cab and I get to drive it and if she needs to do something she is on the 4720 open station.
As far as the engine RPM, etc - you can still run the e-hydro at a slow RPM for running around, working, etc. The PTO of course takes a particular engine RPM, but that is the same regardless of the trans.
PR - don't need to lower RPMS, it works fine.
If you have never had an e-hydro style trans - you wont miss it in comparison to the Power Reverser. . If you have owner an e-hydro - I don't think we would be having this discussion.
