Tractor
2 JD,
I bough new 4530 in feb 06 and use on farm, raking, discing, box blade.
At 200 hours front spindles developed excess play and front end was replaced.
Unable to do spindles by themselves.
Also 225 hours clutch went out. Seal broke and oil got into clutch housing and
replaced entire cluch. put in new cermaic which now grabs at end stage.
Had tractor for 2 1/2 weeks to repair.

Dealer said normal for ceramic clutch.

Now 290 hours rear end started leaking.
Brakes seals out and had to replace both rear brakes.
after 2 weeks brough it back and right is tighter than left.

All was covered under warrenty, BUT,
wonder what will occur next.
This is my second Mahindra.
Had 2810 I trades for 4530.
Was having electral problems which were unable to be fixed.

I believe this has just about done me in on Mahindra.

I am sorry to hear about all the problems that you had with your 4530. Especially since that is what I am looking at buying. Do you know other people that have a 4530 and if so are they having any of those same problems. What does yor dealer say may have caused the problem with the clutch?? Once again sorry for your difficulties and I can only think that maybe every make of tractor has lemons from time to time-------I HOPE.

Could you maybe share with us what you were doing with the tractor when it broke. Mahindras are built tough, I cant imagine all that happening at 225 hrs.
Can you share a picture of your tractor with us ?

There was an issue with the hollow shaft seal on some of the earlier 4530 models. Mahindra solved it. It would leak profusely on the clutch. Also, check the plugs on the back of the engine block, they plug some oil pressure ports. I've found a leaky one before. Make sure your dealer touches base with the Mahindra service rep for your area so he gets the proper fix for the oil seal.

When the cluch went out I was discing new water ways to sprig bermuda.

When the brakes started leaking and went soft, was brush hogging one of the pastures.

The dealer says he thought he had done all the updates and recalls on the
seals, when he picked it up this last time.

I will try and get a picture this weekend.

I have a 245 loader on it also.

I have two other, a 7830 and 4010 (my Dads old 63 model I drove as a kid) JD's for the heaver work.

Just disappointed in so much so quick.

I'm very impressed!
This compliments musa_marketing's input and the great dealer network here on TBN very well.
Good going!

Anything man made will experience some problems. I've always thought a good measure of a company is their response to the problems and a desire to correct them.
I think we're seeing a very positive move by Mahindra.

Your comment is really not needed, it doesnt add any good at all to TBN.

At least Mahindra is willing to come on TBN and do something about it .

Which is more than I can say for the other manufacturers :D

I got a 4530. When I got it very hard to shift, poor job install loader lines (rubbing), leaking from hydralic filter. I found out no water filter on tractor for fuel.
Dealer put new filter hydralics still leak. Sent factory mechanic to my house to fix leak. It was two of the small bolts and teflon tape fixed it. This took a while warrenty was running whole time.
Dealer said shifted good. I could hardly shift. I took up the floorboard. Dealer rerouted line against shift rod this time.
Got to looking at the shift rod and they were not adjusted properly. Fixed that. Another reason for leak was a factory defect. Mechanic fixed it. Had not used tractor hardly any because I do not run equipment if not fixed. Just messes up more stuff like some of the problems you guys are having. My year is now up less than 50 hours. Hour meter quit. Over one year old now. Dealer said about $260.00 to fix. I took the dash apart trying to fix. I wish some one would show me how to replace bulbs etc in dash. Looked liked to me no way to repair anything in there.
I tried to help them looks like the could get me a dash or tach repair kit or something. I did not let the trans pressure blow the clutch seal etc.

However these problems came about (dealer prep or manufacturing) your dealer is the representitive of Mahindra that should've handled the issues in a timely fashion. If they were unable to correct any of them, the dealer should've gotten Mahindra involved. There are a couple of Mahindra reps monitoring this site, try sending a PM to them, if you feel your dealer has let you down.

Navoo, Alabama selling dealer. Mahindra called local dealer in Aliceville and he was very interested he did not sell tractor not interested in my problem. I suggest that you guys that do not have water seperators get one. Cost me total about 150.00 to build mine. The dealers I have had dealings with are interested in not me when there is a problem. The long time it took to get leaks fixed, lines fixed etc. had the effect of making my warrenty much shorter. Take a 4530 dash apart and tell me how to change a dash light. I could not figure it out.

I am in the Aliceville Phone Book if you want to talk. Thanks for the area I could vent in. Almost forgot if you are using this tractor bushhoging my tractor will get rid of clips and pins about as fast as you can replace them. I am now going to grade 8 bolts. One of the pins lost is about 40.00.
Thanks for everyone time. I fell better now if nothing else.

My hour meter quit at about 30 hours, It was out of warrenty because it was over one year old trying to get the other stuff fixed. Rather than spend 260.00 for factory dash I got a Welcome To Tiny-Tach. Small and economical tachometers for gas and diesel engines. it is called a tiny tach. About $60.00 It works great. When you read about it you will find it will fit a buch of equipment. I wish I had thought of it.
Hope this helps. John Franklin Pearson
