I am looking at the 48" kingkutter tillers. Can anyone tell me the difference between II & xb tillers. I can't decide if the II is worth the extra money I have a bx2660 and i will be tilling 3 or 4 smaller gardens and a little landscaping a year. I would like to stay under $1400 Thanks for any comments

From KK web site:

MODEL / Size / #tines / #rows / Ship Weight

TG-48 / 48" / 36 / 6 / 600 (gear drive)

TG-G-48 (similar to TG-48 but class I Quick Hitch compatible)

TG-48-XB / 48" / 36 / 6 / 524 (gear drive)

TC-48-XB / 48" / 30 / 5 / 425 (chain drive)

The XB would be the best fit for the BX three point. I just got a King cutter one row cultivator and it works great with my L3130 but don't fit well on the BX2360. The XB line is made for subcompacts. A local Fleet Farm is selling the XB tiller for under 1200.00 this week.

I always prefer the orange XB implements, as I have several and really like how easy they hook up.
I don't know if what is learned from one implement can apply to another in KK's line, but I agree with the above. I too just got the KK cultivator in yellow, because that's all they had. Had to cut the extensions off, (will try to get pics) as they bent the snot out of my turnbuckle keeps. I do believe that the cultivator is likely the worst fitting of the line, however.

Thank you for the input I do not know anything about tillers so any help is greatly appreciated. Will the xb till the same as the II or will you have to go over more times. I assume the II is a little better quality do you think the xb will last a long time with little trouble. I would like to buy this weekend while there on sale Thank you

My gut says either. They will perform similarly, be equally effective, and with care, last equally as long.

Sounds like you got a real buy on that unit. Where did you buy it? Was it "on sale" at that store only? I'll be anxious to hear how it works for you.
