Don't work. They are speed limited here and even the fleets that have "max speed 90 KPH (55MPH) decaled on the back of their trailers I follow them all day long on the highway at 115 KPH.
My trucks were all programmed to show they were governed when plugged into, but they were not.
Here in Michigan, it is not uncommon to see heavy semi's going well over 80 mph on I-96, US-23, I-75, I-69, and I-94. EVERY Day.

A lot of them, I suspect. But it's fleet average, so we'll have to see how EV's are counted. If counted as infinite, then each 2 EV sales will permit an ICE vehicle at 20 mph to be added to the fleet.

What's interesting is that I had assumed Dodge would continue just playing off the FCA fleet average, or buying credits, to keep making big-displacement ICE's. But with the 2024 Hellcat going electric, you gotta wonder what their next move will be.

Put otherwise, if even Dodge SRT is going electric, who's going to be the last hold-out?
I’m thinkin the electric vehicles may not be part of the combined MPG. I think the ICE vehicles are in their own fleet.

Our VW Rabbit diesel constant 54 -55 mpg on hwy way
great little car. Easy to park, only 10 gal tank and I had
250 gallons of home heating oil and only had to fill up once
a week or when gauge said 1/4 pull into garage and start
pumping very quick to fill a 10 gal tank
Wonder what happened to the 2 wheeler that VW made for
china sales that got 160 miles on a gallon of diesel?????
Probably same thing that happened to the people that had
a patent on turning LP gas into gasoline at $1.78 gal

Fleet averages..so they will be forced to make more EVs to boost the averages for everything else. A Prius Prime gets about 133MPG all in and 54 with just the gas. If a Prime is the average, we will not have enough electricity production to meet those standards.

According to Edmunds test drivers:

"Prius Prime is a very efficient vehicle overall. On our route, our XSE test car got an observed 50.9 mpg"

That is very good fuel mileage, but still long ways from 54 mpg

Just saying.
Check the EPA numbers.

They'll still be in my yard. I don't give a crap what i gotta pay for fuel.

I have to believe ICE vehicles created the conditions for enormous 2023 wildfires in Canada and Russia. What do you think?

As more and more of California and Arizona run out of irrigation water and temperatures rise too high for migrant workers to pick field crops, I expect parts of agricultural Canada will benefit....... for a few harvests.

I wasn’t happy to see the Challenger going to be replaced by an electric. It will be fast so I thought it might be OK. Then I saw a video of some idiot designer talking about the “exhaust” on the new EV performance car. He went into all the details. I just wanted to find the guy, slap him around and make him admit that “exhaust” is just making fake noise. It’s an electric car, at least have the guts to leave the fake engine noise out. I lost all respect for them when I saw the video.
I feel exactly the same. It's a stupid gimmick that won't age well. If you're going EV, make it silent, no need for fake engine noise. I suspect that will become a feature many owners delete, over the coming years.

What's funny is that, in terms of brand-loyal subjects, I'd assume the Mopar crowd has got to be near the top of the "anti EV" list. So whatever Dodge does with this Hellcat is going to have to be utterly sublime. You don't replace a 707 HP ICE with anything less, and expect to have something marketable.

Fake engine noise is because people were complaining the electric and hybrid vehicles were unsafe because they were too quiet for pedestrians. Of course, that doesn't mean they have to make them sound like a 'muscle car'.

Good point. But if safety is the reason to add engine noise, then there's no way they're going to make a Hellcat sound like a Jetta, it's going to need some rumble and whine.

I will say that driving two relatively loud vehicles, I don't come across nearly as many deer on the road as my wife in her quieter vehicles. They can hear me coming, and I guess they've been conditioned by now to get out of the way of oncoming noise.

I have a 2014 VW turbo diesel that gets 50-60 mpg.
Bought it used with 30k miles on it just for the mpg.
