I am running the deck EXACTLY the way Deere specifies as indicated on the wheel setting decal on the deck.
1* I set it up on a large level concrete pad. The wheels clear the pad as Deere specifies.

When you run it over a yard, however, it makes the yard look like a war zone.
1*Is your yard as level and smooth as the concrete pad?

I think what you are saying is exactly what the tech from the dealer told me how to set up my deck for mowing. I set the mower deck height with the dial on the floorboard, lower the deck to that point. Then, I set the 4 gauge wheels high enough so I can just slide my hand between the wheel and the ground. So far this has worked. My yard is definately not flat. I will pay close attention next time I mow to see if the wheels are digging in.
Trade the JD for A CC./Sorry Hard couldn't resist ribbing ya a little.;)

This might not help the situation but my 62 MMM does have offset wheels. Is this the new model or something. I purchased it in January. I dont have the divit problem described in this thread, although I do find it a knuckle busting experience getting front bracket to attach to 2520 tractor. IS there a fix for this problem?

When I bought mine I could not even get the front mount back on the first time. Dealer said that some of the front brackets had been made incorrectly. New brackets were installed, fit was better but still tight. JD had the dealer install a shim washer between one of the brackets and the tractor frame. Fit improved more, but is still very snug. I can get the bracket on by hand now but no where near as easy as is show in the demo videos for this deck system.

LBrown, thanks for your comments that don't help. Maybe someone got a laugh, but not me.
I had trouble with my front bracket. I had to use a hammer to put it on or take it off. Dealer fixed that. The picture of the mower looks just like mine, and I have had mine a year. Mine did not dig in for the first few months, but after that it started. JC

My front wheels were the same as the picture until I received the update that added the grease fittings to the swivel section. I had started to see the wheels begin to bind and had been tearing them apart once or twice a month to clean out and grease. With the added grease fittings and spacer washers, I now only need to grease to keep them moving freely.

All I got were the wheels in a box from Deere. I added my own zerks and have been trying to get the washers from my dealer. I just don't understand why they can't fix it right for everyone. I had a few minor problems with a new xuv gator. I have had such a time with my 62d, that I did not want to go down the same road with the gator. I took it back to the dealer with 7.5 hours on it. They are trying to sell it for me. JC

Is the problem only with the 62" deck with the 2520 ? or is there the same problem with the 54" deck ? I just ordered my 2520 with the 62" deck and I am a little nervous after reading this info....Might change to the 54" deck ..

what are your thoughts

The drive over 62d deck is still great even with the wheel issue. Not having to push/pull the deck, and if needed you can carry it on the 3PT hitch (even easier if you have the I-match hitch.

Once I started greasing the swivel section, I have had no problems.

Knowing what I know now about the problem, I would still buy the 62D deck. It mows great & it is very easy to remove & install. If your lawn is reasonably flat & smooth you will not have the problem. The fix is simple if you do have the problem. It just apears that JD is not communicating well with its dealers about the problem.
