Hi,

I found a 7 foot box blade for $400.... great shape. I have a 30HP TO30 Fergie with no weights. Thoughts? I know I can't be aggressive with the box blade, but is it plausible?

Id say no.

My 5' light duty with extra weight can quickly bring my 33hp to a stop in no time if im moderly aggressive.

You got to ask yourself whats the point of dragging around a 7' version that hardly cuts any dirt. Id think youd spend more time dragging it around not doing much each pass vs a more reasonably sized version that moves more dirt per pass.

Thanks for letting me know. My tractor's 6' wide and I think a 6' box blade would be perfect, though reading what you wrote about your 33HP... The 7 foot is as wide as my barn run-through's (2 inches to spare on each side) so in that regard it would be perfect. I'm only pulling dung, hay, wet hay, wet dung, muck through and it should be able to pull. What I'd like, though, is to cut shallow trenches, level and grade some compacted ground, do some work.
