Nice mods! I fully understand the D-ring added on the top side strap mount. But why bother doing anything with the bottom side cable mount? It should be sitting free and clear under the bucket regardless of bucket size/width.
Pretty ambitious to be modifying the ratchet rake without the tractor present though! I would be test-fitting the **** out of any changes I made to it, but I'm not all that skilled at eyeball fabrication, either.
I snapped more pics of my own RR today, so figured why not share. Overall I am a little bummed about the fit of the 72" model on my 60" bucket. This is the strategy I settled on today for my test fit, but I'm not sold yet and will likely play around with it some more.
I chose to hang it off the driver's left side of the bucket, dunno why. But the offset of the RR brackets vs. my loader bucket width forces one mount to sit outside of the bucket (just barely). When you fit the strap hooks in the mounts, it forces the offset of the RR just a little further, if you want to keep the RR mounts all snugly grabbing the loader bucket.
But man, this thing is heavy duty! Hard to lift into position by yourself, I can see why they recommend you to keep it on the ground and use the loader to pick it up. Since it was in my truck bed I just lifted it myself vs. bending over to place it down on the ground first. I like the agressive look. The yellow
almost matches my paint...
