I hope he doesn't let the dealer weld it back together. I hear the fix from Kubota won't fit then.

That is what mine says. I wonder if they would try to wiggle out by saying the road isn't your property.

Look at your deed. Don't know about you but my property goes to the centerline of the road and I grant an easement to the neighboring lands.

Interesting point. I know we grant an easement to the power company but I don't know if it goes to the road center. I'll have to check that out.

You may have to grant easement to the power company, but when they figure out your taxes every year, your total acreage is figured from the center of the road.

Seems like there be alot more damage the hoses are still pretty neat and no marks, tears or nothing on the sides of tractor, the snow blower dont look like it has any damage either. I would think there be something else that would stick out saying it was ripped apart but I just dont see it.

That is me too. It does not look like it was just torn apart. in my opinion something is not right with this senerio. Something should be twisted and distorted. Even the plates on each side look like the bolts were removed not broken or ripped through. I am suspicious. Call me a sceptic! At least in this. :D

I don't insure my tractors because they are in locked buildings but I wonder if Home owners would cover something like this. What percentage of the blame will be placed on the Kubota, I wonder.

My road is not very busy but I watch very close for the invincible moron that drives 80 in the snow. But then, maybe the Kubota didn't look.

I think homeowners, at least mine, will not cover accidents or damage that do not occur on your property. I'm sure there must be some variation, but I'd check to be sure.

Here is another photo that I personally downloaded from my friends camara. First I would never post "fake" or altered pictures here, I have been a TBN member since 2004 and like to share topics that provoke thought and good conversation. I dont like the premise that somthing is wrong or fake about what I have posted here, Being Skeptic is a good thing but give your fellow TBN member some courtesy here before you basically call him a liar and a fraud. That being said, This is a free fourm and all are welcome to have their say, now I have had mine. Here are the Facts behind this accident. The gent was clearing his driveway during a snowstorm we had here last sunday, A Subaru (Not sure what model) slid off a snow covered road, went across his yard and into his driveway and hit the tractor splitting it at the bell housing. I personally talked to someone in the fire dept and the Gent said he turned around and his steering wheel was gone. He walked away from it, The operator of the car did not do well at all. The photos were taken the next day after the accident, nothing was moved until the police could do a investagition and that is why the tractor has snow on it, I also dont know what else was removed from the scene before the pic were taken but that is in FACT what happened and these photos are Genuine. If you cant take my word for it..well i guess it to bad for you, for the other 99% of TBN members here I hope you found it thought provoking and worthy of good Discourse here. If I dont post here again here for a wile I want all to have a Good Christmas and a Butt Kicking new year. If i find out more about this I will add more pics of it, I know that that there are a lot more out there from responders from the scene.

Glad to hear the tractor owner was not injured..hopefully the car owner had enough protection to lessen his injuries and will be ok too. Plowing snow with a tractor is always dangerous because we are so exposed (more so without a cab), and will no safety equipment such as air bags; bumpers; sheetmetal; and so on. I'll go off-road / ditch-driving before sharing the road with a car in snow...too many teenagers around here with no experience whatsoever driving way too fast.

Chris527......as I re-read the posts, I don't believe anyone on the forum was intentionally calling you a liar regarding the pics, its just that everyone is so used to having Photoshopped pics passed around creating urban legends, etc...that is a natural discussion perspective. Please don't take it personally and continue sharing and contributing to the forums.

P.S. - There was another thread on TBN about whether to have "two basic tractors vs one deluxe".....maybe now this guy can take his L3400 and make two "L1700's"......and provide feedback so that this 2 vs 1 question can be put to rest as well.

Chris, I am very sorry that I have offended you, that was not my intention, desire, or plan. I did not and would never call someone a liar on this forum, I might imply that someone is "gullible.";) There have been those on this forum.

My take on the situation was that you had received the pics and were told a story. As Champy said, there are lots of pics passed around that have stories associated with them that are FAR from truth. Because of the skimpy details which you provided, the low res and general nature of the pics without the detail in your explanation and in the pic you posted today, I will admit that I was skeptical that the story and the picture went together. You have to admit with the pics that you first posted it does look like too clean of a break to be a violent accident.

It does show the weak area of these tractors and the benefits of having a subframe tying the parts together. although I am certain that if the parts had been tied together even more ridgedly that the driver of the car would be even worse off.

Thanks for posting an interesting and thought provoking topic. With the additional info it is also clear that he was not in the road, making home-owners insurance coverage applicable and making the car driver liable without question.
