Snow Equipment Owning/Operating A bad day Playing in the snow

/ A bad day Playing in the snow #41
I am glad your friend wasn't hurt, and hopefully the auto driver will come out of it with good health. Hopefully you understand the others concern about the pictures being real. Happens too much for it not to be a concern, but in your case, you moved it to a more realistic post.
If I were to be caught plowing snow on my tractor, I know my homeowners wouldn't cover it. They would know something was amiss.

You know the way my neighbors speed on my dead end street I had my concerns with being hit when I was plowing during the last storm. I have my halogen lights on the ROPS, flashers and front lights on to see what I am doing as well as to be seen. I wonder if the owner has the Kubota insurance (tractor looks new) that was required of me when I financed my B7800 through Kubota?

Always wanted to see the inside of the clutch housing....

It is interesting that the hydro fluid isn't seen, but if it snowed on it, it wouldn't be.

I do like the comment that it really shows why you want a sub-frame when using a backhoe and not just a 3pt! Then again, I'm biased against 3pt hoe's.

Thanks to the poster for sharing this with us. I for sure would not have imagined a "break away" center in the tractor! The things you learn here.

Chris, you did start this with "I recieved these photo's from a friend" I am one of those who was skeptical, that sure is a clean break. I meant no disrespect and I too thank you for photo's as well as sharing this.

It is still amazing to me!!

I recieved these photos from a friend who happened to come across a serious accident here in Saratoga County NY. From what I understand a car lost control on the snow covered road and wacked this Bota in the bucket really hard. The operator walked away being belted down but the driver of the car was seriously hurt. Just a reminder to wear your seatbelt when operating your tractor.

I financed my L3400 for 3 years at 0%. It was like getting a 10% discount. No mention was ever made of insurance.

1*it is also clear that he was not in the road, making home-owners insurance coverage applicable and making the car driver liable without question.
2*Look at your deed. Don't know about you but my property goes to the centerline of the road and I grant an easement to the neighboring lands
3*I hate to say it, but the tractor operator might be found at fault for being on the road.
4*My homeowners says that as long as the tractor is used for maintaince on the property it is insured, not insured off the property.
5*I don't insure my tractors because they are in locked buildings
6*I wonder if Home owners would cover something like this.
7*What percentage of the blame will be placed on the Kubota, I wonder.
8*No mention was ever made of insurance.
9*I wonder if the owner has the Kubota insurance that was required of me when I financed my B7800 through Kubota?
10*maybe the Kubota didn't look
11*-If I were to be caught plowing snow on my tractor, I know my homeowners wouldn't cover it.
1*His homeowners insurance isn't applicable. The car owners policy is applicable.
2*But violate a traffic law on there and you will still get a ticket.
3*The picture don't show that the tractor is on any road.
4*Depends on how it's worded does it say used for maintenance on the property or of the property.
5*How does locking them in a building prevent fire or other damages to a tractor.
6*The car insurer should be the one to pay for it.
7*Why should there be any blame placed on the tractor owner?
8*Any financed deal requires insurance.Must have been a foul up somewhere.
9*Kuboto cannot legally require you to take their insurance. This is against the consumer protection laws.
10*Why should he be required to look when he was off the road and on his own property?
I don't know of any law giving a motorist the right to go cruising through somebodys private property.
11*Why wouldn't homeowners cover plowing snow?

Lbrown59,

Obviously you are not a lawyer! They want to shift blame from them and thier clients to some one else. Guilty or not - shift the blame. Now, do you still wonder why most politicians start out as lawyers?

LBrown,
Read my complete post again, and take note of where I park my tractor, and when you have done that, consider why an insurance company would think something was amiss if I was plowing snow in my driveway. Since the last recorded snow was in 1989, and that wasn't enough to plow, I would think that you would have understood. Guess not.

HOLY S**T. Man that is unreal!

I wonder if he had off road fuel in it ;)

Were the tires filled?

Were the R-4's to blame?

Will LBrown59 bring this post back in 6 years?

Seriously though, no matter WHO was to blame, this could have had tragic results. Let it serve as a warning. Poor conditions can lead to accidents. BE CAREFUL.
