A question that came to me about your purchase. What did the old person you bought this machine do with the hood? Just qurious, because that is something you don't just throw away. :confused2: Before spinding $150 I bet you could repair the one in the picture with a sheet of plastic material and some metal screws.

I would fix it too.

I'd get a piece of sheet metal, cut it about 2" wider than the top area, bend the 2" ends down, (the slots in a picnic table top work great for this), and screw, or pop rivet it on.

Bomb can it JD green, and from 5 ft., it will look fine.

I bumped a tree and broke the bumper on my mower and decided to buy a new one until I found out they were over $40 so I left it off. Then saw some new Deere mowers at Home Depot and none of them had the plastic bumper. Mine looks just fine without it and the best part, it still mows the grass as good as before. Oh, mine doesn't have tail lights and I don't need them because the traffic on my lawn is very light and I am only out in the daylight anyway.

The plastic muffler guard was missing when I bought my used GT 235. A friend has a LX series deere mower and replaced the plastic muffler guard the first time it broke. After the second one broke he gave up.

Gotta love those 275's.... i got one 6 years ago- used. Its a work horse. Needed the second mower for all the grass, so bought a new 300 series thinking new was better--I hated it, kept using the old 275 and parked the new one. Guess what, within a year I sold the 300 series and bought another used GT 275. Best decision. One has a mulching blade the other a mower bagger combo. These were built to be used.
