Tires A physics question of leverage

The load is applied at the center of the bearings.

Dawg had a good run. Now maybe I'll count the new sand grains in the car.

Leverage never applied. Forget that premise. That is something that numerous people confused themselves with. We're not moving an immobile rock here. It's strictly an action and reaction situation on the bearing. Do you think Newton is wrong?

So I sold Lenny those 3" spacers that were on my tractor for a while with no issues.

I replaced them with 5" spacers - and wheels set at widest for total 72" - with tires filled AND 3 sets of Kubota wheel weights (384#) been running like that for almost 2 years with no issues. I now slopes, use 680# box blade, 655# grading scraper, 576# rear blade all with no issues. Now, I DO keep in mind the added stresses of the 10" extra width over stock and travel slow over rough ground so as to not bounce the rear of the tractor hard.

I think Lenny will be fine, which ever way he mounts them

Oh, I'm going to mount them and run widest setting. My mind was made up.
The original question was only a request for a meeting of the minds on where a dish in or dish out vs longer stub sticking out if the group thought there would be a "theoretical" difference in forces.
I gave the first answer as I thought the same.
I also take into account that some people will load their tractor more than I will and I may load it more than others.
As said, there are some smart people on this forum, some have book learning and some have common sense. Some even both. When you work alone or don't have the background in farming or advanced degree in physics, a question here or debate can give you food for thought for hours! (Laughing) just look at this thread!
I'm good on my answers.

Is a rotary cutter better than a flail mower?
JUST KIDDING! DONT ANSWER THAT!

What should get, R4s or R1s:shocked:

This has been a good discussion. Sometimes over my comprehension level. But good. I try to understand all of it I can.

Thanks to the OP for starting it. :)
