Your tax dollars at work, they tell you how and what to do for just about everything now. Orwell was right, just a bit off on the timing.

I just picked up one of the 5 gallon yellow cans at HD for ~$9 after tax, it's the new kind with the vent in the funnel, it is slower, but I'm legal now!

Remember reading that is school and thought how dumb! Now, it is just scary!

And JSR, that Waly World in Pinetop carries more of the politically incorrect items. Could not find a good can down here is the Phoenix area.

I still have a couple 6 gal plastic fuel containers(cans)from probably 15 years ago with the flexable spouts that I definitely will not part with.I know you are supposed to use a blue or yellow can for diesel but I've simply used a magic marker and designated one of them for diesel. In a word; those new unvented containers "SUCK"

I have also had a bit of a problem with the new cans leaking. I have not had a big problem with it but once in a while. I do admit that they are a bit slower than the older ones with the vent hole. I do however love the fact that they have the handle on the side as well. It is a lot easier for me to move it in place with a handle for both hands. The diesel tank for my montana is located right next to the step into the cab. It is a nice height for filling. When I had my MF 65 the tank was at the top of the tractor. I got a cheap electric fuel pump for a car and attached hoses to it. I put one hose in my can and the other one in the tractor diesel tank. I had my electric cord made with battery charger clips on the end of it. It might have taken a few minutes longer with that method but it was nice not having to lift that container to the top of that tractor.

Ditto on not liking to hold a can way up high for a while. The fuel cap on my NH 7610s and ford 5000 ar on the top of the hood.. and the tractor is high enough to need a step to get up to the op platform.. thus you have to use a step ladder to fuel the things when using cans.. etc..

In my shed are two 5 gallon galvanized saftey cans that I aquired 27 years ago and they are the absolute best. They have a flexible steel spout on them and the gas doesn't come out until you pull the handle back. I have seen similar ones in McMaster for over $100 each.

I agree the new ventless style are a pain to use and then the ones where you have to push the spout in to get gas out is even worse.

I'm going to buy a good drum pump that can be used for kerosene and fuel then fill up a drum of each for use.
