Hi Barry!
I wish I had more good things to post about this project but unfortunately life's been getting in the way every step.

A week after my last post my dad had some medical problems and spent 10 days in the CCU unit of the local hospital. He's OK now but that was my main focus timewise for a while. I've also also been working a bunch of overtime, late nights and weekend hours as well.

And on top of that I had a few unexpected financial set backs that drained the entire budget I had for this... Too bad I don't get paid for the overtime :(.

All that adds up to me driving down the drive everyday and looking at nothing more than a post plantation.

If I can sqeeze out enough for the T1-11 I've thought about putting up the walls and throwing some kind of temp roof up until I can get the rafters and roofing going but I should probably just wait until I can do it all at once...
I'm sure we all can relate to life and finances getting in the way. I have a lot of landscaping projects around here that need to be done but, have not gotten around to it just yet for lack of time. Hang in there like you said, better to wait and do it right. ;)

Well, about ten hours last weekend let me and another guy get trusses up as well as the ply and the tar paper on the front side. I'm thinking about 5 more hours and we should have the back done as well as a good bit into shingles.

:)

It may just be a pavillion this winter... or I may wall in three sides and leave the door framing until the spring. I guess I'll wait and see what I get to.

The roof is done. Finished throwing up the ply and felt in the back and then put on the drip edge and the shingles. I'm pretty happy with how it all came out. If I had it to do all over I'd do a couple things different but I learned a lot, had some fun and have a good solid structure.

Still not sure whether the walls will go up this winter. We had a pretty good rain over the last few days and I was surprised how dry it stayed with the walls being so high. That's nice to know in case it doesn't get walled in this winter.

On the side that will be enclosed the slag floor is about 9' 2" from the bottom of the trusses. I think this will be fine for me and my uses. The opposite end that will remain open has about 11'.

I'll post more pictures later.

Thanks for feedback everyone!

Hey Bill! Nice job. How about those "more pictures later"? I would like to do something very similar to what you have done, so anymore input and pics would be great.

Thanks in advance, and I am very glad you did this project.

Hi all. Sorry it's been sooo long without an update. Haven't been on any forumns for a long time.

Well the pole building has been a three walled structure since last fall. Here are some pics I found from this winter. The first shows the unpaneled gable end and the 8' overhang to the left of the 16'x16' enclosed area.

The second is from inside the building (you can see the rest of the T1-11 inside the building waiting to be cut, painted and hung.

The third is just another pic from inside showing the mounds of snow the PT had cleared from the drive. :) It's about 4' high and 25' long. There were several other piles along the drive as well.

I'll look for better spring/summer pictures of the building and post them soon. Before fall gets here I'll finish what's left.

Bill

Here is one more from the fall. All the skirting wasn't all on yet but it gives a pretty good idea of what it looks like. I can't find any spring/summer pictures so I'll have to take one the next time I have the camera with me.
