rtvman - are you keeping those accessories? I've never heard how small they really are, just that they're not worth the $. I'm waiting on Todd to finish his.

Brian,

How are you! I have been trying to respond back to you from your private message and for some reason it won't send. Not sure why? Anyway thanks for the links, I will check them out.

I will be keeping those meager accessories because, small as they are, they do hold my gloves just fine /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Kevin,

Got your PM response. I thought gloves and spare beverages go in the gap behind the seat? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Jippy

I've ordered K7561-42334. Are you saying that Kit P/N K7561-97421 is the same thing, only difference being it includes instructions? I should be fine installing with what you e-mailed me. Thanks

Brian

I installed the K7561-42334 kit last night, The actual cost was $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping. It came with a one page instruction sheet (all diagrams, no written instructions) and took about 30 minutes to install. It installs down by the transmission. Not hard to put on, but a pair of C-clip pliers is helpfull. Took it for a spin after installation. I think its going to take awhile to get used to haveing to use the brakes

Keybal,

Welcome to TBN.
I put mine on last night as well.
Mine came to the dealer as K756-97420 at the same price you got it.
I called the dealer the next day and they checked with Kubota. PN K7561-42334 (which is what I ordered for $14.25) is no longer available?!?!? They said there was some defect in the part and they're not selling it anymore. Well, as of now, I don't believe them and think they pulled a switch to get another $10 by including a piece of paper that has the 2 step instructions (take off old one, install new one). I'm hoping the issues I'm having with Kubota are limited to the RTV but I'm not real happy with Kubota right now. I'm not going to even look at them for a new tractor. I'm going with either blue or green.

OK, enough venting. On to the new part.
Pretty easy to install. A pair of snap-ring pliers would speed up the process but I got by with needle-nose pliers. Other tools needed are a 12mm + 13mm wrench and pliers. Had the old off and new on in about 1/2 hour.

It was raining so I only did a short ride.
In low-range. Very nice stopping. It stopped relatively quickly but took the abruptness out.
Medium and high range: It took awhile for it to stop when at full speed in each range. If you don't plan ahead, you may need some brakes.

Although my ride was short, I haven't encountered shifting issues (hard to switch gears) that I've heard about on some of the new ones with this part installed from the factory (thanks Neil). I'll keep an eye on this. There does seem to be some linkages that are adjustable that attach (directly or indirectly) to this part. I may need to do some adjusting. Take a look at the attached pic.
The new part is on the left side. Vertical bar with sleeve for grease zerk and plate on the right.
I noticed the notch on the plate is not centered directlly on the stop. (see gap on top where they meet). The old one sat centered.

I'll ride with it for awhile. Not sure if I'll keep on or revert to the original but will post my findings as I have more time to try it out.

What kind of issues are you having with your RTV?

BeeFarmer

Not 100% sure I understand your question.

There are/have been a couple issues with the RTV that have already been posted. E.g. hard to shift.

I guess I'm just struggling with Kubota, the company.

I can't answer for BeeFarmer, BUT I think the engine takes so long to get back to minimum idle speed that if you try and shift within five to ten seconds after stopping with the new lever installed, the tranny doesn't want to "give up" the gear that you are in. It now seems harder to get the RTV out of any gear, especially reverse

this is exactly what I thought would happen with the new lever installed.. I know without it the idle has to be all the way down before I can get off a clean gear shift.. With it its gotta be a problem..
