Let's all be very careful regarding the accessories we connect to the aux jack or even the battery directly.
In your example of the leaf blower, 7 amps at 120v is 840 watts. Since you are running a 12v supply on your tractor, that would be 70 amps. Also, the efficiency of the inverter comes into play. If we assume 80% efficiency, we would need to provide a supply of 12v at 90 amps. A 90 amp current draw is very, very large. A group 27 or group 31 battery (which are not available for our 2200's) would be more suitable. Also the alternator on our rig is not sufficient to charge effectively such a large battery.
Word to the wise, use only moderate current draw tools when using an inverter.

I called Black and Decker service about the HT 400 hedge trimmer: it draws 2.6 amps. They said it should be no problem using it on a 400 watt inverter that I already own. I am going to wire it directly to the battery, it has its own power fuse. Switch it off when I'm not using it.

A small generator is still better all in all, but for a 300 watt appliance loke the hedge trimmer a small inverter on the BX should be OK. I will use the same inverter I use in the car so I don't have to buy another gadget -- there is something to be said for that as well.

Yes that tool uses approx. 312 watts. With a 400w inverter at 80% efficiency you are on the margin but should be OK. BTW, your 400w inverter will have to be fused for min 35 amps and you should use #8 wire for the hook up (I recommend a 40 amp fuse). 400watts at 12volts draws a bit over 33 amps.
