Turning a wrench isn't a problem. What would I need besides a supply and a return to operate a the rear door on a baler and maybe a hydraulic tie circuit? I'm also seriously considering a hydraulic top link

That would require a three spool to operate all that, one spool for each function. You can buy a 3 spool valve and get the power beyond plug for it, hook up should be pretty straight forward buy using the power beyond circuit.

Ok. I assume I can t off the supply for the 3pt and that should take care of the return to the tank?

No , you run the supply ( power beyond) through the new valve, then you can Tee the tank return into your existing tank return line from your loader.

If you have some remotes valves now, just disconnect the PB hose from the 3pt and feed the new valve and then run the new valve with PB adapter to the 3pt input.

Everything will now be in series.

Al tank lines go to tank.

Another question. When running a baler with hydraulic tie, that should only require 2 remotes as the top link wouldn't be used with a baler. It would be used with a disc mower and also an outlet for the raising and lowering but again that's 2 remotes. Could I use a 2 spool rather than 3?

Yes you could unhook the top link and plug in one of the baler circuits in its place.

The third spool is for whatever.

Ok. Also would I be correct in assuming a hydraulic circuit in series works the same as an electrical circuit in series? Meaning if I have 3000 psi and I am using 2 remotes that means I have 1500 psi per remote? Does a change in direction of flow (a T in the line) effect this?

No.

Your pump may be rated to 3000 psi, so any hyd component can try and develop the pressure and therefore power.

You can work two cyl at the same time and they both can develop up to the 3000 psi rated pressure, depending on the relief valve setting.

All the valves in an open center hyd system are in series, so all valves will see the pump flow.

The first valve can take all the flow leaving none for the other valves.

If you only use half of the flow, then another valve can use the remaining flow, and still develop the 3000 psi.
