For reference, here are some pics of my Deere Z850 with the dump bagger.

Thanks everyone for the replies,

I am going to go with the ZD, after some research I think in a couple of years I am going to switch the tractor to a B or L series for more power.

Im still scratching my head on the dethatcher/rock removal, I would love to get rid of the front rotary broom, I do more damage with it than good to the grass. I tried a landscape rake to pull the gravel out of the grass but it kind of fluffs it up but does not drag it out.

Using a flail mower with added overseeding knives allows you to dethatch with the overseeding knives.

And now as no one makes a pick up flail mower with a tank in the united states anymore and a "cylone rake" or ground driven sweeper may be an option but its one more piece of equipment.

I would keep the broom and use it for the rock as the grass will come back quickly from being whipped a bit. grass is very resilient-I would let the grass grow a bit before you try to use the broom to get rid of it- but with a flail mower its not something you need to fret about.

saying that the flail mower will shred everything up to so small a cutting it will degrade quickly with 2 slow passes and you have no dead grass from old grass covering it as it is composting quickly into the grass bed.

even buying the biggest commercial cylone rake and a flail mower will allow you to be out less money than a zero turn mower.

Hi All!

Thanks for the replies!

I ended up ordering the ZD and I got rid of the front sweeper/blade.

I timed the mow yesterday and it took 1 hour and 15 min, previously it was something around 2.25-2.30 hours.

My wife really likes to drive the ZD around, I think she might cut the grass sometimes.

Thanks Again!
