I think I might have been tempted to dig that 4' deep and 8' wide ditch then back fill with some FLUF so as it LOOKED solid /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif then post phone # for help in removing the STUCK ones near by... then ole brutis could simply flatten anything STUCK in the ditch that is abandoned and or pull them out for a 3 or 4 figure payment! lol... love that rock...

If you run out of boulders, I have plenty of russian olive trees/bushes you can have.

With thorns 1-3" long, a pile of these will deter anything and everything. They will puncture most tires(and skin) - easily.

I had a bank being used as an entrance by uninvited guests and pushed a pile of these in front of it - Not even an attempt has been made to enter over these.

Come on over if you need any. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After shooting a couple of my dogs, I would be tempted to do some permanent damage to thier personal property. Something on the order of a hole deep enough and just wide enough to hold a truck, but with steep enough sides it is not coming out, then when filled with said truck, decide to fill the hole back in. Very large trees with spikes for "gripping" aka, nails, would make some tire people real happy. Getting law enforcement to impound an "abandoned" vehicle is also cool. No one wants to "buy" his vehicle back from the police auction. What is really a shame is that an old fashion #$% woopin would probably land you in trouble, but that would probably be more fun and rewarding.

Hope the rock works to keep them out, or if someone is stupid enough to try, it breaks something expensive.

lol, well Danny, seems you & I don't think so far apart. Here's what I DID do...

I had two boulders blocking an area where they went around a tree. The road is like 3' higher than the woods, and there's a small, yet sharp dropoff once you get 10' away from the road. This is where they were going around, and "up" this small yet steep incline.

I had two boulders there (about 1/2 size of one in above pic) and they pushed one aside to give them room to keep moving their trucks through.

Rather than put the rock BACK, I only moved it partially back. My logic was, if the thickhead that moved this did it and then travelled through, he knows his truck "fit" though the hole.

Sooooooooo, I moved the rock back so that the hole was now, VERY tight. My hope is/was he (or another) would see the path and opening, not realize the true size had been subtly closed down on them... that they'd then go through opening, and up the little step hill... and either scrape his truck lengthwise on the rock I put back, or best case, get wedged between that rock (still scraping him) and the tree.

Oh... since thorn trees are indiginous here, seems there are also some (perhaps recently cut?? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) branches on this same path. I hate it when branches fall off nearby trees. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I digress... I was hoping that they'd beat the tar out of their truck and get mad...call TVA... then by the implicit facts of trespassing, also get a ticket. I don't think I was that lucky.

I left the rock they moved for this opening, and this hole is actually where the above rock went. So now I have a wall of rocks there, in addition to more rocks on the actual dirt "road" that they use to use.

What fascenates my wife & myself... if these thickheads put as much energy into doing something POSITIVE with themselves, as they do, getting around legal roadblocks and trespassing..... they could probably BUY all this land and have it themselves to do with, what they want.

yea our TD9 looks about the same as your tractor as far as paint and rust, but it sure gets the job done, out back years ago my father dug a ditch across the power line right of way to keep people from driving thru, its about 5 ft deep and has the dirt pushed up on each side, as well as rocks along parts of it, once we had a stolen car end up abandoned ontop of the mound of dirt on one side, looked like he tried to drive thru real fast and got high center of course, made for a big thing with the police there to tow the car and all. rocks are nice cause if you later need access to an area yourself you can move them and drive thru, but if you want to more permanantly block an area off then digging a ditch and dumping the pile in front of it works best, i have seen where this was done then someone tried to drive over the pile not realizing the ditch was there and stood the truck up almost verticle with the nose in the ditch

Only real problem with a ditch is that it is a right of way. Its there so that the power co can access their lines. The rocks can be moved, but you might want to think gate. Locked gate. If you did a ditch you might end up paying for the refill, at power co rates, if they need access.

There are a lot of gated right of ways around here, so give the pwr co a call, cant hurt.

I really do like the BFR though /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

EXACTLY what I had in mind. Lets see, tow bill, (first the driver must have permission to get there), second, his front end is smashed /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, third, now he must talk to you about his idiotic and illegal activities, and he also has a lot of bills to pay so he might not be able to afford another time like this.

PS, get photos of the truck with nose down, and with nose smashed, make a good laugh thingy

where the ditch is it is the back of our property, they have access to the other side from the next road over so its not a problem, its been that way for 25 years or more, and as for a gate they did actualy install a gate at the entranceway to there access road onto our property about a year ago, it has one of there locks and one of our locks on it, so either them or us can open it if need be, reason this couldnt be done long ago was that it was originaly our driveway to our house till after my parents aquired some ajoining land and had the house moved to be further from the power lines (EMF concerns and stuff)
