I like the nails idea. The trucknose down would work well to. What I have seen done before is to stretch a stout cable very tight across the road at about radiator height in a place where you know they are going to go fast. If you've ever seen the aftermath of a truck at 30 mph meet a 3/4" cable pulled tight between two big trees you'll understand. The cable didn't break either, but the truck sure did.
