Adding a 2-speed pto

With the PTO case removed you can see more hard shiny parts - Kubota's are orange inside too !

This one shows the single-speed parts. In a few hours I'll post a pic of the new parts that make the box 2-speed.

Dick, nice set-up. Hey just a thought, with the tractor setting up like that for a few days now, make sure your battery is'nt leaking, good get messy............

Kubmech - It does look pretty steep but the battery is dry on top - I'm not going to open any caps though /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Here's a pic showing the new gears, thrust washer and inner race. The upper pinion is 2-pieces.

This went really well - here is the finished 2-speed box ready to go back on. The leftover parts to the right are the old single pinion, its gear, and the dummy spacer that's been replaced by the new gear and race.

Toughest part of the job was getting the old gasket cleaned off - they use some serious adhesive at the factory.

My new 2-speed PTO !! It's running in this shot but the camera was fast enough to freeze it.

It works like a charm. Even the slot for the pto lever is long enough so no mod was needed. Gotta get a rabbit decal to mark the high speed position /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Champagne anyone? On second thought maybe I'll just have a beer.
