Advice needed please Converting a Curtis snow plow pin frame to a quick attach

I am in Northern NY,St.Lawrence co. and have plowed exactly one time this year.Unreal year so far,plenty of rain lately and above freezing temps.My friends in Washington State are getting "our" normal winter.

I've plowed at least 5 or 6 times so far. About average I'd guess. February seems to be when we get the most snow in this area. We'll see if that holds true.
Same warm weather and rain here. Now ground has thawed again so next snowfall will be digging in again. That just gives me more driveway and yard to fix in the spring.
Hopefully Joe will post some pics so we can help him with his set up.

Here are some pics folks. Started the hydraulics today with a good friend who owns a mobile hydraulics business. He plans to tap into the power beyond and the loader valve. A $93.00 Prince 3-way, some fittings and hoses. Hope to finish the hydraulics later this week.

I will post more pics and details. Below is some pics that include the new second valve which will operate the two existing plow pistons. Here is a shared link..

Here are my pictures. Suggestions on adapting the plow frame to a quick attach plate which should arrive tomorrow along with the quick attach adapter. I saw one member who fabricated a set of pin plates which I also in included as the last picture. Thoughts....

I think this is what you are talking about. With this type QA you would cut the tabs off your bucket and weld onto this so you can pin it on your loader arms.

Then you need a plate like this to weld onto the bucket in place of the removed tabs.

Joe, I'd get this QA plate to use with your plow. Leave the plow frame alone and modify the QA plate like I just did in post 18.

Your plow A-frame can mount to the bottom of the QA plate the same as mine. You just need to add a chain to the center of the A-frame like I did.

Fallon . The yellow plow in the photos looks to be a snowbear plow . I thought they were too light and flimsy and not strong enough to be used on a tractor . How did it work out ? Every now and then one will be for sale here but are bent out of shape . The Snow Dogg plow you have looks nice and heavy . .

My first plow mounted to a 3pt Quick Hitch welded to a SSQA plate. Toplink was chain for float & worked well. I had planned a similar setup, but ended up buying a factory SSQA plow for my new L4060 after the old plow ran off with the old tractor.

Not enough snow to use the dam plow this year yet, but I'm concerned about the loader + plow weight. I suspect I'll be putting a hinge on the bottom of my SSQA plate to get plow float rather than using loader float. Generally more weight on your wheels means better traction & steering. More weight on your blade means less traction & steering.

I suspect skid steers plows are really only meant for paved parking lots, hence the lack of float. I hear & will hopefully soon confirm myself they don't work as well on tractors & gravel.

Ya, i think i figured that out as well at one point. Think it came off a small Jeep or something & is definitely a homeowners class unit not a pro unit, but solid enough to get the job done.

It actually worked good on my L3200 (32hp, 3,500lbs + snowblower). The only time it was a bit was a bit weak was when stuck & trying to lift the front end... which generally qualifies as abuse. Despite being small it was to much plow for my machine in a foot of heavy wet snow & in the nasty 60+mph 3-4' drifts we get out here. Hence the blower. I still used the plow 90% of the time as it was a lot faster, not to mention less prone for dumping a blizzard on an open station operator.

That plow held up to 2 winters of pretty decent use at my place & covering a half dozen neighbors drives. It only left as a part of the package deal with my L3200 when I sold it to upgrade to my cabbed L4060.

Manual angle was annoying, but I was into that whole setup under $300. $100 for the plow at a garage sale & a hair over $100 for the Quick Hitch & SSQA plate (part of a package deal for some impliments off Craigslist). Couple evenings fabbing up the mounts & maybe $50 for a pile of steel I still have most of left I'm my iron rack.
