I used gray primer to coat the bare metal first then rustoleum gloss gray. Was all I had on the shelf at the time.

Great, thanks George!

Here are some pics folks. Started the hydraulics today with a good friend who owns a mobile hydraulics business. He plans to tap into the power beyond and the loader valve. A $93.00 Prince 3-way, some fittings and hoses. Hope to finish the hydraulics later this week.

I will post more pics and details. Below is some pics that include the new second valve which will operate the two existing plow pistons. Here is a shared link..

I will up load the photos shortly.

Thanks folks!
Here are my pics taken today. I think I am going to fab a set of pin tabs with a back plate similar to what another member did. Any other suggestions?

Joe, I'd get this QA plate to use with your plow. Leave the plow frame alone and modify the QA plate like I just did in post 18.

Your plow A-frame can mount to the bottom of the QA plate the same as mine. You just need to add a chain to the center of the A-frame like I did.

Joe,
Just an FYI. I bought the HD 1/2" thick QA plate (overkill) for adapting my plow. The 1/4" or 5/16" plate will work fine and is a few dollars cheaper. On the bottom of the QA plate I welded a piece of 3" x 3" x 3/8" angle. The tabs I welded on the bottom of the angle to hang the plow are 3" x 3" x 3/8" thick plate and have 3/8" diagonal gussets.

Much appreciated the details George. My Titan parts (QA w/tabs, (2) 5/16ths QA plates, one solid for the plow frame and a cut away plate to weld to the back of the bucket) arrive yesterday, but I'm down right now due to a nasty respiratory virus.

George2615:Looks good;it will be interesting how you find it works for you.A direct comparison using the same tractor and plow.Let us know.
I am in Northern NY,St.Lawrence co. and have plowed exactly one time this year.Unreal year so far, plenty of rain lately and above freezing temps. My friends in Washington State are getting "our" normal winter.

In the past week we had a couple of 2-3" snowfalls but ground was warm so it settled down to an inch or and I didn't bother to plow. This morning I got a chance to try the newly modified plow. Had about 6" of snow last night. Plow worked well on gravel driveways but digging up some gravel. Had to adjust the tilt a little on the paved driveways so the cutting edge was touching. Blade floated just as it would if on a truck. In the garage I initially set the loader arms so the A frame is level and adjusted the skid shoes so the cutting edge is an inch off the ground. That way when the blade is lowered on gravel drives the blade sits on the shoes and skims snow just at the gravel level of the driveway.

Joe, I hope you are feeling better. I had a bug a little lower than yours for 4 days (Fri,Sat,Sun,Mon) that kept me in the house close to the John.
Any progress on your plow mods?

Got another 6" since this morning, about 12" since last night with more on the way. Lake effect snow warning is in effect here until Sat 7PM. Could be anywhere from 18-28" depending on which way the wind comes off the lake. Plow blade / shoes are still digging in the gravel because the ground is not frozen. I guess its job security as I'll have to rake it all back come spring. Here's a couple pics.

Same problem if the ground is not frozen.I use my seven ft.rear blade when conditions are like they are now.
It sure does look like Central NY is going to get pounded;don't miss it;saw enough when I worked in that area for ten years(The brewery in B'ville and the nukes in Oswego).

George,
Thanks for the kind words, week two can kick this sticking virus! No progress at all. Promise to post lots of pictures and progress notes when I start up again.

Hopefully we get at least a sniff of that snowstorm. Less than 3 inches on the ground presently...

Why didn't you say so yesterday. I could have loaded my dump trailer full and brought you a load in exchange for some cinnamon buns.
