Ok maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but I swear I know less than 2 people under 35 that work hard, show up all the time when they are needed to be there.

... Idiots 90% of them and that is the under 30 crowd the under 25 are 98% idiots and less than 20 99.5% are worthless idiots.

Jeezus you must live in a terrible place or know all the wrong young people. I would have fit into the 2% of 25 year olds that aren't idiots until last year. Guess I'm in the 10% under 30 crowd now.

Now I can't hire anyone to do manual labor on our farms. On the occasions I actually got people to show up all they did was play grab a** and take breaks.

I've gone through it plenty of times, looking for carpenters, carpenter's helpers, subs, etc. It take's a lot of work to find the needle in the haystack/separate the wheat from the chaff, etc., etc. I'm lucky someone found me.

I have no idea what percentage of the population is/are total idiots right about now, my guess is that it's pretty much the same that it has been for thousands of years. We just get to bi-otch about it much more easily amongst ourselves in these "present" times. :laughing:

The last two youngsters I've dealt with at work are class acts.

First one is now 21. Full time job in I.T. with 2yrs degree. Takes care of his child and responsibilities with his girlfriend. Smart. Hard working. Wouldn't mind having him for a son.

Second one is 18yr old H.S. senior working as intern in I.T. Got his A+ cert at 17. Getting network cert this year. Already accepted at college. Going into networking. Kid is driven. Looking for things to do. Always learning.

So, there are still good young folks out there. :thumbsup:

First one is now 21. Full time job in I.T. with 2yrs degree. Takes care of his child and responsibilities with his girlfriend. Smart. Hard working. Wouldn't mind having him for a son.

Second one is 18yr old H.S. senior working as intern in I.T. Got his A+ cert at 17. Getting network cert this year. Already accepted at college. Going into networking. Kid is driven. Looking for things to do. Always learning.

So, there are still good young folks out there. :thumbsup:

Seems one could make an argument that all old people do is get in the way, b itch and complain, and suck up resources that could otherwise be concentrated on the movers, shakers, builders and providers of tomorrow. I say, Down with FOP's. :thumbsup:

I will say, it's definitely a different environment, for everyone, these days. One thing that differs from the "old days" is how quickly some things change, most notably, technology.

Tech has found and made things much different (and much more quickly) than in generations past. Some good, some bad...all depends on our differing viewpoints. The "younger set" is much more used to/grown up on the same tech...and it can seem too different/the wrong way to do things, to "us".

Lot more than you might think when you work in larger place that hires kids to give them a chance. While knowing them WELL maybe not but knowing their work ethic is a different story which is what the thread is mostly about.

The ones I DO know well are still mostly all on the worthless side my Niece is about the only one that works real hard to take care of her boy, the daddy is the typical idiot... Same with my GF's kids both pretty much live as easy as they can do as little as they can and barrow anything they think they deserve at will.
The girl next door is a senior in HS, Captain of the Volleyball team, head basketball Prom Queen too. She is a great athlete with near straight A's. Got her a scholarship drive and helps take care of her 3 year younger sister. She has not held much for a job yet worked summer some in the concession stand but still worked when it was available.
