Thanks - dumb question but "snow caster" and rear mount snow blower = same thing, right?
As for the tire debate, I searched the forum and saw the results...I still wouldn't mind input, but didn't mean to open up that can of worms again. Seems the turf tires are probably best for me, R4's look pretty mean though...
The snow caster is the snow thrower, so no worries there
About your tires; its not really a tire issue in winter, its an issue of maintaining traction at all times.
If you can mount the diamond tread turf tires they hold chains very well and chain binders are a must to keep them on the tires. The diamond treads have a huge surface area for floatation and are great for mowing.
A good set of ring chains or V chains sized for the Mule with chain binders and loaded tires will solve these issues for you at all times.
You have to keep in mind that you are dealing with material that is 21 pounds per cubic foot and wieghs more per cubic foot with the freeze thaw cycles and this is the reason I suggested the rear mounted snow caster. Ken Sweet has great prices for the Allied snow casters and he ships too.
