Amazon delivery problems using USPS

/ Amazon delivery problems using USPS #61
It's 9:30 pm on a Saturday night and the USPS truck is out delivering... saw two on Sunday making deliveries... looked odd for a Sunday.

They're just out re-delivering what they screwed up on Saturday night

I prefer UPS over all the others; FED-EX started diverting their stuff to USPS which is by far the worst.

My mail lady is so lazy even if I leave the gate open she either dumps the package at the gate or leaves a note to come to the post office to pick it up.

I'm sure there is some back door deal for UPS / FED EX to subsidize USPS.

I mean if it cost $5 to ship something UPS does the bulk of the handling then the post office gets it for 3-4 days how much $ are they getting?

Get rid of USPS, the EPA and DHS (total joke and waste of Taxpayer $) we might have some $ to reduce taxes....

I guess there is different levels of service in different parts of the country. We seem to never have any problems with UPS, Fed Ex or even the USPS. And yes the USPS even takes the packages that are too big to fit in our large mailbox all the way down our lane and hand delivers them to our front door. Can't complain about any of them. Yes the USPS now delivers packages here on Sunday too. I have personally seen the UPS drivers walk all the way down our lane on foot and deliver the packages to our door, when the trucks can't make it up from the snow and ice. I guess I am blessed.:confused3:

Be sure to give them kudos! Wish it was like that here. Ups and FedEx will go the extra step. I just mailed my mortgage yesterday. Who knows if it's going to make it. Grrr.

Same here. Given the choice, I would have them at home with their family (don't like causing someone else to have to work on Sunday), but this time of year, they probably can't handle the volume without working on Sunday.

Mmm I see Amazon just (automatically) renewed my prime membership for $99 Overall Prime is a bargain imo... It more than pays for itself over the year in saved shipping charges.

Agreed that Prime is a good deal. I am surprised at how expensive it is to ship from some companies. With Prime, you just don't care and it is second day which is much more expensive at other places. I like Duluth clothing but it is expensive and their shipping charges make my eyes water. We are just having shipping for free from Amazon and having to pay for shipping is an ouch.:D

For Duluth I wait to order until I see at least 20% off and free shipping.

Yeah kinda sucks to have to work on Sundays... especially if you are a big football fan. I am sure it goes a long way paying for the xmas bills though!

I tried Amazon Prime for almost a year now and am liking it. Sometimes things can be found for a little less money on Amazon (not Prime) but the two shipping is nice thing to be able to expect and not wonder when. Also a nice bonus is we are now watching movies/TV series on demand through Amazon Video for free which is part of the deal when buying Prime.

We have the same thing at work during apple harvest, no one likes to work on Sunday, but the apples have to come in and there aren't enough hours during the week otherwise.

Lot of music to stream for free from Amazon prime also. Yeah, we are hooked on Amazon prime. It is addictive. Go to the store? heck no just order it from your computer or phone and it is here in a couple of days. No shopping, no gasoline, no looking for parking spaces.

Yep I'm addicted. Haven't tried the music yet and thanks for the nudge.

Been wondering about the (free) movies /tv series available with Prime So far have Prime for the 2 day shipping,
we have hughes satellite for our internet and a land line phone... Just always thought that the data (movies ) would use up the data allotment and or cost extra??

The movies certainly will eat into your data allotment. How big is your data cap and how close does your normal data consumption come to filling that out?.. Music streaming uses a bit, but nothing like video.

Just went to Staples for office supplies and Postal Workers are always outside picketing...

Inside is a post office counter... just like small towns where you would find them in hardware or drugstores...

I guess the problem is Staples is corporate america.

The signs say the Postal Service is Not for Sale...

Zombie I 'am a rural mail carrier. The carriers are not redelivering screw ups!! They are delivering packages only on Sunday! that came in Sat afternoon! Since I'm on a rant. It is not the easy job that some people think. The complainers should do the job one time To see what is involved. thanks for your time. little K

We have always had the best letter carriers for decades...

About 10 years ago it changed.... always someone new... one day mail at 10 am and then next at 5:30 pm

All of the mail drop boxes in the area have been removed... big and small.

The post office is now a Plexiglas fortress...

At least once a week we get mail for several streets over with the same house number and they get ours...

Maybe I have been around too long... the problem is I know it can be better because I have experienced it...

I suppose I should have put a winkie face after my post, but I haven't figured out how to do that on my phone yet. It was a sarcastic reply, I too have seen usps doing sunday deliveries. Seems like quite the outreach to serve the customer better. Kudos to em. I'm sure there's a lot involved in the job. There's lots in my job that general public doesn't know about. Does that mean that it's ok to screw up over and over and over like the postal service seems to? If you can't do your job correctly, or at least get better at it, maybe that's just not the line of work to pursue. Don't take it as an attack on you personally, you might be a wonderful carrier, and if that's the case, I wish mine were the same as you. Hopefully your not as lousy as my carrier, or the one that was before her. Of course any industry is going to have it's good and bad employees, and this is just a forum where some people have been sharing their frustrations. Along with all the crappy service that's been described, there's also lots of untold stories of carriers going above and beyond, some people see in the carrier making an extra effort to get the package to the door. Or, maybe they don't see it with the guy loading the trucks and stopping the driver from leaving while he gets the last package squeezed on. Then on the other hand, how many videos are out there of toss and drop deliveries? Goes both ways.
