American-made Grade 70 Chain & Binders???

While I see certain items specifically marked "Made in USA"... I do not see that on their Grade 70 chain or binders. Or am I missing something?

In my experience, if it doesn't say "Made in USA"... 99.9% chance it's Chinese.

Call me skeptical... but I've been zinged too many times before to go on wishes or blind faith.

I get there print catalog and they do make a point of mentioning USA there. I understand wanting to see the "Made in USA" stamp, not sure why the web site make no mention of it.

If it is truly "Made in USA"... and they're not saying so on their website... they have got to be losing business because of that. Even worse, by specifically pointing out certain products as "Made in USA"... but not all of them... they imply that where they are silent means "CHINA." If it were me, I'd even go one step further and specify the USA chain manufacturer's name so that there would be no ambiguity or doubt whatsoever!

So now the question is: How old is your catalog?

I bought 3/8" GR-70 at a local hardware that was American Made. I think it is Peerless brand. The ratchet binder I bought were 3/8"-1/2" from AW Direct and they ARE american made. They have both Chinese and American.

Thanks for the info on AW Direct's binders. I'm looking for lever binders myself, but it's probably the same situation. I'll ask them.

Got it within the last several weeks. As another poster mentioned, you have the option of order in USA or China.

Another place to try is McMaster Carr. They have chains and binders but no mention of origin. Maybe an e-mail could get that info. Unlike Grainger's they sell to anyone, no minimum order.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought Peerless grade 70 3/8" x 20' chains for $53 each at my local commercial equipment company and was able to avoid shipping costs which were about $8/chain when I looked into mail order. Each link has the grade mark on it.

This may not work, but the folks who make overhead hoists have to use the best chain for obvious reasons. Where do they get their chain?
