Ammo $$ going up??

As i mentioned in my prev post.. the people I know reloading berdan are reaming the primer pocket and anvil, and drill a flash hole in the center.. that is.. they are converting it to boxer. there is some question as to the webbing down there.. but? I guess these guys got time.

No one mentioned importing berdan primers..

Actually, I did mention importing berdan primers, seeing as how difficult they are to get in the proper size and how unavailable they are here ....... they are not worth the trouble.. as mentioned previously.

In my reply when I said 'no one mentioned importing berdan primers' I was refering to the fact that -I- had not mentione dimportation of primers when reloading berdan. -YOU- are the one that siad it would not be worth it. I was merely saying that i had not mentioned importation, because it was not happening because they were being converted to boxer primers..

I wonder what a box of .378 Weather Mag goes for these days?
I bought 200 pcs Norma (brass only) for it last year and that was $200!!

Holy smokes batman! That was a steal if you got 200 pcs of Norma .378 Weatherby Mag brass for only $200. Going price currently for them is around $210 to $215 for 100 pcs.

Loaded factory Weatherby ammo is going for around $100 for 20 rounds of .378 Weatherby Mag loaded with 270 Gr. Barnes X bullets.

Yes, in fact I was the one who previously mentioned that it would not be worth it, but glad to hear about their conversion to boxer instead.....

Are you serious? I guess that is why I shoot until I get tired or run out of time using 9MM ammo at $8 per 50 rounds. Of course the Weatherby .378 will kill a dinosaur at 400 yards and shoot 1" groups, but the dinosaur season in NC is short and I don't bother with it.

By the way, did anyone see the article about Colibri 22 ammo this month? One of my customers has actually bought some and set up an indoor range in his basement. His wife never heard him shooting downstairs. He paid $2 for a box of 50 which is only double the price of on-sale Remington Thunderbolt ammo.

I will try to get some myself. The thought of shooting in your own basement year round is attractive.

Yep, I'm serious. 20 rounds go for around $100 or more.

Indoor 22 shooting has been around for years. There are alot of enclosed backstop manufacturers that make indoor backstops just for 22 rimfires.

You missed my point. The Colibri ammo is almost silent. You can't even hear it at 15' away.

No need for hearing protection and no noise for the rest of the family.
