The label on the pail has changed also. I purchased 5gal. and the label caught my eye whan I was switching pails. I don't have it in front of me now but if I remember right it has 10W 30 on the label now. Same order # and the price went up a little also.

I also noticed that on the price. I am going to order some stuff for all my auto's ($165) and noticed the new fluid etc.

The fluid is an SAE 5w-30

I need to test the Bx's oil. 5-gallons of the hyd fluid is like $7X.XX

That's what Super UDT is. I used 10 gallons of Chevron All Weather THF synthetic at about $65 gallon. It's orange so is easier to see on the stick. I just did the change a few hours ago. Don't notice any difference from UDT but it's 65 degrees today and well, my hydrostatic drive already runs perfect, so whats left, more perfect? Rat...

Did I miss something. $65 a gallon or $65 for 10-gallons?

Look one post above mine it's the one where you mention "

I was working off that, 5 gallons is $65 not $65 a gallon like I typed. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

One thing to watch with Amsoil is that they choose their word wisely. "Recommended" for and "meets qualifications for" are 2 different things.

Many of their oils have no API certification, just "recommended for" API services.

I'm not saying it is a bad product. Just watch the wording.

The latest Amsoil Action News had writeup on pg 10 their tractor hyd-trans fluid. Product # UTTO

Lists Kubota Super UDT...

I know they do not have a litte "star" for API certification on most of their oils. They pass the spec and that is all the matters.

Their oils have higher ZDDP, which is good, and if going for a little star, their zddp would be low.

I just noted it was weird

I contacted amsoil and got the manager of Amsoil Technical Services

"Mike,

I apologize for the confusion. ATH can however be used in the hydraulic systems of applications calling for Super UDT.

To summarize:

ATH can safely be used however in the hydraulic system of ANY Kubota application that calls for UDT or Super UDT.

I hope this clears up any confusion".

Will using it be ok with the Kubota warranty ?

Yes, you can use it in any UDT or super UDT. People are making an issue out of Super UDT when the specifications of Super UDT go over and above Hyd fluids. If you want, email Amosil so you can make a copy of somthing.

When I talked to Ed about the respsonce to the question post on TBN, he said that it was correct but they is more to it.

The way they explained it was that Super UDT is a dual-purpose fluid as Darryn and Ed said. It is just the UDT specis for hyd only and Super UDT is for a multi-purpose fluids (more then hyd fluids apps). The difference between UDT and Super UDT has nothing to do with the quality of the lubricant as stated.

And you can use one their fluid in any palce calling for UDT or Super since Amsoil fluids far exceeds Super UDT requirements.

EC and ECII etc (starburst) certification (applies to spark ignited engines) is not relevant. My point is that Amsoil has very few oils that have any actual API certification (ex: CI-4) but they do RECOMMEND these oils for the application...
