Another backhoe model number decode request

Just picked up this Ford backhoe for $1k, and am trying to double check what it is. Top of the transmission behind the starter has:

Model: DD211F
Production code:8C10B
Serial: C567803
Engine: D5NN6015G (I think)

This decoder only has a single spot for a letter at the start of the model number, so I don't think it's correct for this tractor?

FORD CODES and SERIAL NUMBERS

Looking online for DD211F, people in forums say it's a 535 from the 70s, but they don't link to their decoders.

He thinks it was a 455, and the manual set it came with has 4500 underlined, 1965-1975, and "model 550 backhoe" written on the cover.

Front loader has 19-501 on its tag.

It was overheated pretty badly until the headgasket blew and leaked externally. He drove it to where he parked it, then shut it down. It refused to start again after that. Hopefully it's just losing compression through the bad HG and that's why it won't start. No water in the oil, and it's not seized up.

Model DD211F = 1976-1978 535 Industrial, 45 hp, 201 CID Diesel engine. No PTO with 4x4 torque converter auto reversing.

Code 8C10B = 1978 March 10 Day shift

Follow up question: Apparently the manuals I have are for a different, older, machine. Any idea how relevant they are to this machine? I should probably start looking for a set specific to this model.

Next question: the backhoe attachment has 748P cast in it. I'm only seeing these model numbers for the backhoe: 750, 753, 755.

Is there a decoder that points to which one I actually have?

I did order a complete set of manuals from ebay.

Your older manuals will probably work just fine for most basic info where manuals specific to the machine should cover the finer details of it. I would look for a manual specific to the tractor.

Understand it has been MANY years since I was around a Ford backhoe but there should be a metal ID plate located somewhere on the backhoe that will tell you the model. I cannot remember where they usually placed them but want to I think it was near the backhoe controls in a somewhat protected location. I also seem to remember the info being stamped into the main boom down near the pivot pins, much the same as the numbers stamped above the starter boss.

It has been well over 30+ years since I was around this brand of backhoe so I COULD BE WRONG.

Good call on the location. There's a tag on the pedestal with the controls. It was painted over with everything else


It says 19-551, which appears to be a 755.

The main boom ram sinks over the course of a day, and the dipper ram looks awfully wet, so I'll probably try to rebuild both at some point.

That's a good deal for the manuals. I paid well over $300 for my set on my Ford 3910 around 2008. And I think it was the same seller. The manuals are very good and seem to be copies of the originals.

Has anyone ever used the harbor freight diesel compression tester in the injector holes on this engine?
