Pictures before I put the geo-fabric and stone down. Don't have any since. Will post finished product this weekend.
Things of note:
---I'm balding. Bummer.
---The shirt makes me look fatter than I really am. I think. I hope.
---I stayed out of the tree driplines, so HOPEFULLLY I haven't hurt them. I did pull some roots out, but my lot was forest, so EVERYWHERE I dig, I pull roots out.
---In the "Jumping Jack Compaction" picture, note the spoils pile in the back...that is the dirt I pulled out of the hole. The pile is a little deeper than it looks in the picture. I'll pick the organics out and use it elsewhere in the yard later.
Other things of note:
---This project would have been very nearly impossible without my BX. I would have over 40 hours with a pick-axe and shovel just to move the dirt!
---With the completion of this project, I will have saved a DOCUMENTED $15,000 on labor I would have paid someone else to complete tasks I COULD NOT HAVE DONE without my BX over the course of 3 seasons. My total investment in the tractor is $21,000, which includes annual dealer service.
---Once I complete the PATH going to this patio (next spring, probably), I will have completely and entirely PAID FOR my tractor simply through its use on specific projects...I'm not including lawn care which I would have bought a Crapsman to do anyway. I'm basing this on VALUE of certain tasks performed, not on machine hours.
---I would put the quality of the work I've performed on par with any professional...sometimes more-so since it is EXACTLY how I want it.
---Nothing has broken on my tractor in 220 hours of normal to heavy use.
---All this feels GREAT. I LOVE working on these kinds of things.
And don't ask me why every picture my wife took is leaning to the right. She takes exceptional pictures, but seemed to be a little dizzy here.
