If it does get legalized I hope it is cheaper than alcohol. I cannot afford to be an alcoholic.

You might even be able to grow your own. Real cheap

I grow it without even trying. Some of my fence rows are full of it.

You can probably get some help real cheap to clear those fences.

What a great topic.

It will not be California next, and here is why: we had a ballot measure a year or so ago, and it failed.
It was close, but it failed nonetheless.

It takes millions to get a measure on the ballot and the pro-MJ lobby does not want to lose next time.
Perhaps in 2016 or 17.

I think such a measure would pass today, but one major new hurdle worries me: the dope-growers
in the state ("medical marijuana"), and THEIR lobby will fight it. MJ is either #1 or #2 cash crop in
CA, and there is going to be a lot of money involved the next time this is on the ballot, pro and con.

Some factoids to consider: CA is the pioneer of anti-smoking ordinances (tobacco), yet I believe
we are the 1st state to permit medical MJ. Strange that CO beat us to full legalization.

Readers of history will know that alcohol was outlawed in the US 1920-1933, a result of
the Progressive movement. During those 13y, the US suffered from the birth of large-scale
organized crime (e.g. Al Capone), and (eventually) disregard of the law by several states. AND,
in the 20s, the White House was often host to parties that freely served alcohol. MORE
alcohol was consumed later in the 20s than pre-prohibition, and some was poisonous.

13y is not that long when it comes to building up a strong federal drug interdiction mechanism.
For MJ, the feds have spent billions over 9 decades building up a huge bureaucracy to
control drugs. They are not going to let go of MJ quietly.

The states will have to lead as they did 90 y ago.

They don't call it "Ditch Weed" in the Midwest for no reason. You can smoke a 5 gallon bucket of it and all you'll get is a headache. Least that's what I've been told.

AND what few people know is the Government actually poisoned it often so people would get sick or go blind and die from it. It was done to PROVE how BAD it was for people and to try and make them stop drinking. NOT :/

Yes, and some call it horse weed because it is as tall as a horse.

Wait until it hybridizes with the stuff coming out of CO, WA and AK. Might take awhile for the AK stuff to get down here.
