More likely they will be beyond rescue and our forces (special or not) will be there to kill those that have abused and killed them.

True that.

Mark my word here. In a year or so we will be sending our Special Forces into harms way to rescue one or all three of the teenage girls that entered Syria this week. Where the He** are the parents??? Sorry for the distraction.

No distraction at all if the point you are making coincides with that we as a country have much more important things to worry about than someone smoking dope in their own basement. This ISIS issue is serious stuff and we hear little about it.

Agree that I don't know what is going on with their parents. Whether they are the kumbaya type, ignorant, broken home or the kids simply are not able to be controlled.

I agree Tom. But I'll add, if the money is cut off, the kids can then be controlled. Those 3 girls bought tickets with someone's credit card and I'm sure it wasn't theirs. So the parents have funded their activities for quite some time with no limitations. Again, sorry for the distraction.

Not sure what this has to do with MJ. :)

But then, someone will try to connect the dots. :D

This is the other end of the high school graduation listing. Vermouth may blow the theory.
Was that a Freudian slip? :) Martini on your mind?

I highly doubt the Feds would ever do that with more and more states making it legal. Besides, they have much more important issues to deal with. I don't use it, but one the primary reason I now support legalization is due to a conversation that I had with a lifetime ER nurse. In her entire career, she NEVER saw the violent injuries and death associated with pot as she did with alcohol. It just does not exist. Cigarette smoking does more harm to a person's health with the trend towards edibles. That conversation with the ER nurse and the medical benefits it allows are the reasons I would vote for legalization. Big pluses are the reduction in local enforcement costs and the sin taxes it would bring in.

They should ban smoking. Edibles are the way to go. The only thing you should smoke is bees to calm them down.

I never would have figured that out. Lowest graduation rate states per this link are

1. Nevada
2. New Mexico
3. Georgia
4. Oregon
5. Alaska
6. Louisiana
7. Florida
8. Alabama
9. South Carolina
10. Michigan

My Kids Can't Read: 10 States with the lowest graduation rates in America

Your posting lists these

* District Of Columbia 59%
Nevada 62%
New Mexico 63%
Georgia 67%
* Alaska 68%
* Oregon 68%
Florida 71%
Louisiana 71%
Alabama 72%
* Colorado 74%

Slightly different.

Interesting. I won't say that this is a cause-effect relationship between the two. But there is a correlation, and it's probably a result of the socio-political environmental factors in those states.

I really don't care what someone uses as an intoxicant or mood-altering substance; provided nobody else has to pay for it with being robbed, beaten, killed, intimidated, injured, or taxed. Smoke it, sniff it, apply it, drink it, shoot it up to your heart's content. Just don't come to work that way, beat up your wife, kids or neighbors, or drive, or use your tractor under the influence, or expect any of us to pay for your healthcare due to bodily and mental damage from abusing it.

I've heard that CO has seen a major increase in illegal growers and sellers. They are able to undercut the regulated and taxed suppliers so they are thriving as is violence as they protect themselves from thieves.

But it just kills me to watch Cops [which actually I like] and see these officers risk their lives to bring in someone because he is in possession of something the size of a pea. And then the perpetrator [who generally looks pretty useless] has his whole life and that of his family ruined. Agree that there just has to be a better way to deal with something that is so pervasive.

As for drunk driving, again, I hate to see an officer doing a late night traffic stop just to nab one drunk driver. I wonder if they could put a real stop to it by going wholesale instead of retail. Just take a bus over to the golf course around 5:00 Saturday and arrest everybody. Pull one up to the Hilton Saturday night and arrest the whole wedding. Stop by the bowling alley after 10:00. And take a van out to every country bar and round 'em up. Very few people leave these venues totally sober so why make the cops chase them one at a time.

Within a few years.....marijuana will be legal at the federal level.....once that happens....all states will be growing it. Our state has created another huge bureaucracy to license and control it.....like most government agencies....they are already creating a nightmare. We have legal growers in our area.....one guy is spending over $5 million building three big greenhouses. From a construction perspective......the new industry has been a big job creator in our area. It's a legal crop in our state....like apples. Other states will soon follow.....they'll want the revenue.

Are you saying that's too early or too late? I commonly see guys pop a beer in the cart before they roll up to the first tee. Plus, they'll carry a bottle of something brown in their golf bag. Of course, most of these are defense contractors and they can really use a drink, no matter what time of day.

I think he meant everybody that's drinking. Which at my local club, would be 80%.
