Any Radiator Screen Suggestions for YM240??

It is very easy to build your own screen. When I worked in West Africa a few years ago we used to build them for our NISSAN PATROLS 4WD using window "mosquito screen" (metallic type). But remember,this kind of screen does not stop all and you need to blow dust from your radiator from time to time.

Consider this. If you have a FEL, the metal frame may not flex enough to allow removal because of the loader arm. I must bend mine to remove it from the slots. Wouldn't it be nice to have a soft plastic frame with plastic screening. It would flex out and not rust. I have a ym2620d.

To fine a screen may be more trouble than its worth,small holes like in window screen will stop stuff from getting in your raditiator alright,,put will catch every thing and clog up fast,,than you over heat again,,,somthing with a bigger hole to catch the big stuff is best,,,alot of the real small stuff will pass through a CLEAN raditiator,than you just have to blow it out often,,when brushogging espeically,after every stop,,,just depends on what its sucking through raditiator,,,thingy

Standard screen is what comes from the factory. It seems to work. A whisk broom was the first tool that went in my toolbox, (that works too).

Thingy.. you're a little off base here. -Many- tractor manufacturers use a removable prefilter made of screen similar to windo screen. both of my NH tractors had them.

No,,I'm on first at least,,,,,,this jinma I own is my first tractor,,,so just going with my experiences there,,but would apply to most,,,,,,,jinma's have a factory screen,,very large openings in it,,basicly a rock shield,,its heavy duty though,,would stop sticks too,,,,,,so,,,,,,,after running it for first few times brushoging,,it never overheated,,but I noticed a lot of fuzz and stuff on/in raditiator and little on the screen,,,so I blowed it out,,,,than read on johns tractor page [or somewhere],,of this idea of putting window screen over the rock shield,to stop all small stuff,,,sounded like a good idea to me,,so,,,I did it,,,after brushoging in high grass for about an hour,,it started over heating,,that screen door screen was completly covered with fuzz and stuff,,no air could even get to raditiator,,,didn't take me long to take that crap off,,,thats the only time it has over heated,,now,,after I stop,,after mowing for 2-3 hrs,,I blow raditiator out good with one of those long air guns with a 150 psi air compressor,,,,problem solved,,,,,,,now,,,,jinmas are basic tractors,,don't know much about air flow and all that,,maybe a more modern tractor would have different air flow,,don't know,,my toyota pickup has a raditiator,,its got about 140,000 miles,,its never had its raditiator blowed out,and has never over heated,,course never used it to brushog chest high grass,,but still....... now,,sound guy what base are you on??? the thing
