Also where do you set the throttle when starting?

The 325D will start any place above 1/4.

The 322D loader has to be wide open, especially a cold start.

About 1/3 open. Any less than 1/4 and no go. The 223D you just have to put it anywhere of off and it will start

Speaking of the 325-D...

Does anyone know if there are any other alternators will work on the K3D Mitsubishi without modification?

I'd like to find one that doesn't cost $250 new... and higher amps would be great, as my work lights are on a 20amp circuit.

I would think any alternator with a built in regulator would work. Just have to get the proper pulley on it, mount it up and make the electrical connections

I haven't looked at how many wires our alternator has. I do not have a tach, so there is no tach wire.

Do you have a good rebuilder near you?

We used to have a good rebuilder, but he retired when his shop burnt

Same problem here. I would rebuilt it myself, but I can't even find a parts kit for the rebuild 😡

I was going to buy and old school one-wire alternator... but the pulley size was wrong, and I was told the OEM metric pulley won't fit the standard shaft.

With the crank pulley spinning at 3000rpm most of the time, I'm not really worried so much about shaft RPM... and with it being diesel, I really don't need that much amperage. I was just hoping someone would know where I can get a bolt-on alternative or a rebuild kit.

IS there a brand and part number or anything on the Alternator? Maybe you can google search that.

If it has numbers, please feel free to post them up. We will all be in your situation someday

Do you know if the regulator is working?

I didn't know what the amp rating was for the alternator, so copied this from the Operator Manual:

On another recommendation, I have decided to eliminate the nichrome wire and replace it with a starter relay or I also have a glow plug relay from a 6.2 diesel. I could use it by itself, but the ECM tells it how long to stay on. And I won't have the ECM

I am going to use a little LED light for the indicator light. I was wanting the glow plugs on a timer. Like my Toro 223D Reelmaster was - I'm not sure if it was a timer or thermal switch.

How long does everybody's glows stay on that has a timer that shuts them down Automatically?

I was think 10 to 15 seconds.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a timer?

Or a different LED light? The light I have takes a 3/4" hole. I haven't looked at it yet, to see if I can reduce the hole size needed. Not sure what hole size the nichrome has.

Look at this PDF file starting on page 90 and it shows different models and internalhttp://vieux.tracteurs.free.fr/pdf/Mitsubishi%20K3BK3DK3E.pdf part numbers, if the part numbers do not show up on US searches go to the UK and Germany search there. I had to start getting my Renault parts that way, they seem to have that stuff because it was used in there autos but not ours.

Do you think this would work for a glow plug timer - hooked up to a starter solenoid for a relay?

I don't understand why you are trying to complicate a simple circuit?

Why not fix the problem, if there is one, on your machine?

In cold weather, I hold my glow plug switch until the indicator gets bright red and turn the key to start, while keeping the glow plug switch on until the engine runs a few seconds.

This is the circuit:
